Arlene sat by the gurgling stream going through the land that would be the future site of her home thinking. She jumped back startled as rabbits and hares dug themselves out the of the warrens. The broken and wounded stayed grounded and huddling together. The uninjured started leading the rest out and away. The rest were looking back towards where the town was forming and scanning the skies for hawks.
The uninjured and lesser injured had been sent on their way but there was still rabbits and hares left. She'd bled heavily to coax the plant life into beds for the injured and nests for the pregnant does and their bucks. She'd been told this was unusual for the mingling but until a new Warren was built the survivors had to stick together the best they could safely. She would try getting the word out in this picnic she was going to but she couldn't promise much of anything. Safe homes for the rabbits and hares was of importance. Arlene had been feeling guilty over the fact that her home and the others' homes had displaced so many. She picked up a huge bowl of cole slaw after handing some other veggies to the various groups. Those at the picnic would know she blacked out on the ground the echee taking the cole slaw. She had gotten the question out if anyone knew how to make an aviary-hutch for the rabbits and hares.
Time had passed and the hares had for the most part kept their wards from mingling. It was a mark of honor to keep the bloodlines pure so everyone knew who was bound to who, yet those that had failed hid their wards away. The hares had discussed it. The mage's home couldn't support all of the remainder on its own. All but the most wounded or the does heavy with child had left. Tending the litters and their parents the duty had to be divided amongst the populace. They would chose which way to go according to their feelings. The leaders of the remainder of black and white called the mage to their side to request a moment of time.
Arlene stood tossing the stack of invitations to the wind. If anyone was illiterate, Anarith was going to make a flyby close enough to send the information. The hares had agreed that they were too few to herd all of the remaining rabbits especially with new litters so each who came would gain a buck and doe plus the offspring of the rabbits. The hares knew their mind though some were still feeling standoffish. Recommendations to bring fresh greens or carrots was circulated with the flyers and comments.
As for the mage herself, she was tidying the place up as much as she could. After all, her home was a bit off the beaten track not really in the town proper. She pricked her finger enough the wildflowers perked up and made sure the sayder flock was fed. Her dress was as washed as she could in the stream. She really needed that loom when she could to get new cloth woven. Woven baskets tucked in a nestlike shape for transportation to the new homes were scattered about.
(500 word challenge gurgling broken feelings)
OOC notes: Everyone will walk away with at least 1 black or 1 white breeding pair of the rabbits yes all the kits on the does are the buck that stayed with them. The hares will be looking for compatibility and everyone will get at least one unless you really manage to do something stupid at this first meeting. After this bonding ends all newbies get one free hare from the temple from the remaining 20 breeding hares's children. 10 white 10 black will be permanent residents at the temple

Terris grumbled as he worked the soil around the front of his house into suitable garden beds. He was happy the gods had thought to build them a town, a nice, cozy one too...but he couldn't help but wonder if they had chosen the most inconvenient place for the local wildlife on purpose.
"Probably just didn't consider the creatures" he muttered to himself, then hissed as he injured himself with the crudely fashioned hand trowel he had carved.
"That'll teach me to disconnect my mind from the task at hand" he sighed, and stood. As he did so a piece of paper, dancing in the wind hit him square in the face. He yelped, batted at it like a maiden being accosted by a spider, and finally grasped it in one filthy hand.
He scanned the document and growled to himself. Yep, seemed like the arbitrary destruction of a rabbit city had occured, all because the gods had not thought to place the town somewhere more sparsely populated. The sands of the drifts would have been better, there was less vegetation there, and less life as a result, and with that weasel running around? Hah, the poor rabbits were likely to be eaten if they didn't do something.
He eyed the hulking form of Akanth, decided against riding the great beast such a short distance, especially when small, easily startled animals would be involved, wiped as much dirt as he could off his hands, then shrugged, he was likely going to get filthy chasing rabbits anyway, was there really any reason to clean up? He didnt think so, and with that in mind, he strapped on his swords and made the short trek to Arlene's house.
He spotted the woman going about her work, raised a grubby hand, and waved in her direction, then called out. "I'm here about the rabbits, what do you need me to do?"

Duzell was fairly certain nothing could remove the stupid smile plastered on his face as he watched his Saydar and Echee getting to know each other, all while sitting directly on top of Nysath. The dragon was doing his best to not completely lose his cool. He was huffing at Duzell, annoyance evident in his voice. I will ask you one more time; get these little pests off of me. Duzell just laughed. “They like you Nysath. Just enjoy it.” Duzell sat back and chuckled as one of the Echee decided to nest on top of Nysath’s head and promptly fell asleep. Duzell was just about to fall asleep as well when something blew in and landed on his face. He opened one eye, gingerly lifted the note and grabbed his glasses so he could see what had interrupted his nap. Still groggy from his almost-sleep, Duzell read the note at a snail’s pace. When he looked up Nysath was staring at him. Well, what is it? If you are going to torture me with these vermin you are not allowed to leave me in suspense. “Arlene has apparently had a rabbit apocalypse. She can’t keep them all at her home so she wants to know if we would like to go and help out.” No, absolutely not. There is no good reason that I can think of to bring rabbits home with us. You have enough pests, we do not need anymore.
Duzell stared at the dragon and said nothing. He slowly walked over to Nysath and began removing the Saydar and Echee from his back. “I am going and we are not going to argue about it.” Duzell got to the Echee that was sleeping on Nysath’s head and attempted to pull her off. She clung to Nysath like she was anchored to him and Duzell could not get her to let go. Duzell just sighed and gave up. “Fine, you can stay, but I doubt Nysath will put up with you being there for long.” Duzell went back over to his pack and began to put some of the extra vegetables he had collected for the Saydar inside. He slung it over his shoulder and walked past Nysath, who for once decided not to argue with Duzell, and started walking to Arlene’s home. Duzell tried to put the thoughts of his unfriendly dragon out of his head as he walked the short distance towards Arlene’s house. He could not help it that he was found of pretty much every time of creature, from Echee to Eld’rani and that he knew he could not live with himself if he did not do everything he could to help.
Upon arriving he did in fact see bunnies everywhere. In addition to the hordes of rabbits and hares he also spied Arlene and a rather dirty looking Terris. Chuckling he made his way over to Arlene. “I wasn’t sure if the rabbits would be needing food or anything so I brought what I had.” He took the pact off his shoulder and set it down next to their feet. “So, tell me what I can do to help.”

Amerlan chased after Ekho, who was chasing after Artemis, who was chasing after something flying in the wind. "Ekho come back! Leave Artemis alone she's not food! And Artemis come back you can't just fly off to random places!" Luckily neither the cub or chick had a corporeal form or someone might have bee hurt.
Finally catching up to the cub Amerlan swooped down and caught Artemis in one hand and the thing she had been chasing after in the other. "So this is what you've been chasing. Trying to kill a flyer huh?" The chick sent a warm feeling through the bond, an obvious happiness at Amerlan picking the paper up. "Ekho, please stop trying to eat her?" The cub purred happily attempting to get back into Amerlan's good graces, and like always she simply melted at the sight of the cub being oh so adorable. "Fine I'm not mad." She conceded. "But you still can't eat her!" Although Ekho may not need to hunt to fill her belly, she didn't eat after all, she still enjoyed chasing things down.
Quickly skimming the contents of the letter Amerlan noted the most important bits: gathering at Arlene's, displaced critters, animals in need of homes. "Huh, seems simple enough. Think we should go?" Both Ekho and Artemis readily agreed. Amerlan's eyes grew wide and she ducked down, hoping to no be struck by lightning. Those two never agreed who knew what would happen now! This of course sent both cub and chick into fits of laughter. "Oh sure laugh now, I'm going to be the one laughing when your butt's have scorch marks on them."
Walking away from the two Spirit Animals she headed towards Arlene's. For the second time that day she was grateful for Ekho's non-corporeal form. The cub had crept up behind her and pounced, but ended up passing right through Amerlan. "Soon I'll be able to lay you on your butt. I can already feel the bond getting stronger." The cub said cheekily.
Sighing Amerlan rolled her eyes at the cub. "Mhmm sure you will. Now hurry up! I want to see the rabbits and hares!" That caught the cubs attention. Rabbits and hares were something she could chase. Rapidly she picked up her pace running after Amerlan.
Artemis couldn't be bothered with flying the whole way there. Instead she sat on Amerlan's shoulder, leaving behind the feeling of only the slightest brush when she flapped her wings to keep steady.
They arrived at Arlene's rather quickly, it had only been a few turns and a straightaway from where they had been. Noticing others were already there she waved to Duzell and Terris. Their host was around here somewhere, but she wasn't sure where. It was then that she noticed that the woman was behind the forms of the two men. Jogging over she met the trio. "So rabbits and hares? Where do you need me?" She wasn't sure where Ekho had gone off too, but Artemis was content to sit on her shoulder and observe for now.

Taki! Look! Look!
Hearing her Bonded’s voice calling, Taki looked up from where she was trying to fashion a reed into some pipes to play – a difficult task but one that she was determined to not be beaten by - to see what had caught the kitsune’s attention. Tam’kar was bounding around in a circle, jumping up and snapping at something white and fluttery in the air that kept dancing out of his reach. They’d been traveling through the Everleaf Grove, looking maybe for a place to settle down for a while, and had stopped for a lunch break not too much previously. Dropping down out of the low tree branch she’d been in, she hurried over.
*I’ve got it!* Given her greater height, she snatched the piece of paper and, realizing there was writing on it, looked it over. And what she read alarmed and compelled her to help. *C’mon, Tam’kar! There are some rabbits that need help!*
They’d traveled the distance to where the invitation said to go, with the Myrgwae pocketing anything that she thought might be useful, though when she got there Taki saw that there were A) others already there, and B) so many does and hares. They looked so small and breakable that her heart melted. They were huddled in pairs, mostly still which was a good thing. Otherwise there would be unavoidable collisions with either people, furnature, or each other.
Moving quietly, she approached the others, realizing that although she had seen them at a distance before, enough so that she recognized their faces –in all honesty, who could forget an elf with a tail (she loved the color of those feathers!), such a strikingly dressed fellow with the very nice coat (he had more pockets that she did!), and a noble knight with two blades (seriously, she’d seen knights before, but two weapons? She could only imagine how amazing he’d be in combat.) However, each time they had been caught up in other conversation or happenings around them, and the Myrgwae was nothing if not polite. A knight she had traveled with for a time when she was two Falls old had impressed upon her the importance of manners. Never one to be shy (a word that seemed to always be missing from Myrgwae vocabulary) she dipped a quick curtsy while Tam’kar peeked around her legs.
*Hello, pleased to meet you!* she openly ‘said’ to them. *I hope this is where I’m supposed to go to help the rabbits. I’m Taki, and this is Tam’kar!* The kitsune kit bounded around her legs to do a little flip in introduction. She honestly had no idea how this meeting would go, since she’d had mixed reaction before when she’d approached people back on her old world. Sometimes they would smile and be happy, other times they would be nervous. Wanting to get a pure reaction, she kept her empathy restrained, standing there smiling in a friendly way, hands tucked behind her back and lightly rocking from heel to toe and back again innocently.

Arlene bowed slightly as a group of hares hopped into the group's view obviously still healing from broken limbs and other injuries though one seemed awful distracted by the treats brought. "Gentlemen, the floor is yours." The mage tactfully withdrew to go pulling out the baskets scattered around the area with obvious inroads of the rabbits eating all her green growing plants a nibble here and a nibble there. This wasn't her show it was theirs. They had chosen that they couldn't keep up with their charges as it was with the few there were it'd be even worse when the coming population explosion hit. Each basket contained a doe nested down belly swollen with pregnancy and her buck for the pixie and angel rabbits. The abtinged hares were turning over their charges to the humans for one thing even they realized this many in one spot for long would strip all edibles like a plague of insects.
The lead buck of the hares, wings folded for even more dignity hating these two legs seeing his broken leg, sat up nose twitching. "The spirit walker said you could be trusted. Several suns until we can take up our wardship again. Balance must be maintained. Hawks need to hunt the weak. Warren even when not ruined not hide all. Not clear all food from one place. Need to equal out. Trust you since spirit walker trusts. Watch over please."
The one focused on his stomach slowly trying to be stealthy hopped in the basket of veggies as if shopping at a 9 course meal.
Arlene brought a basket to each assembled. Terris's had a black spotted pregnant doe with long silky hair and her matching buck aside from his white angel wings and her pink butterfly wings. Duzell's contained a white pair. The doe having longer than average ears and calico markings. Amerlan would find in her basket a couple from the black side of the Warren only his wings would be black and white and he was spotted while she was calico and seemed to have bluish tints more like raven's gloss black than black black. Taki was given a white pair but the female seemed... odd to say the least. Her wings rather than standard pixie or cotton tail were peacock feathers against her calico markings. The mate to Taki's female happened to be a spotted gent angel white wings folded over his mate as he huddled and watched the energetic female.
The lead hare after giving his subordinate a swat on the nose for his rudeness and nuzzling his own mate waited for things to settle. "We will help settle them in their new nests. Some may stay for good some may not. Each follows own path now."

Seeing all the hares in the room made Taki’s eyes go wide, delighting in the fuzzy little parade they made with their wonderful wings – she’d had no idea they’d have wings, of any type! - even if the painful sight of their injuries somewhat ruined the effect. She listened to the buck speaking to them, sensing his distress at his injured state keenly and silently vowing to herself that any that went with her, would be well taken care of. It’s not like she could do otherwise!
As the basket was placed in her hands, she was forced to carefully sit down with it in her lap, not wanting to risk it slipping free from how unexpected the weight was. Looking in, her eyes both lit with wonder and softened in instant affection.
*Aww, hello!* she said softly. *I’m Taki! If you’d like, I’d love to help take care of you. I just recently found this perfect little house in town, and there’s plenty of room for you both and your little ones.* She couldn’t help but admire the beautiful hues of the peacock wings of the doe and her calico markings, quite a striking combination! Then, taking in the somewhat protective position of the buck in the basket, she tried to reassure him. *You don’t have to worry one bit. I can see that your lady is going to have babies, and I can be very gentle. I won’t hurt either of you, or your little ones, or let anyone hurt them if I can. I may be small, but I have a few tricks up my sleeves. Oh! And speaking of up my sleeves… well, technically in my pockets.* She carefully reached in and pulled out some edible greens she’d found just that morning and had wrapped in her handy scarf. *Here. You can have these, if you’re hungry.* Carefully, trying not to dislodge the pair, she put the greens in the basket with them.
Tam’kar, having sat quietly nearby, finally gave in to his curiosity and peered into the basket. Catching the faint alarm in the rabbits’ eyes, Taki instantly stroked over their wings with gentle, soothing touches.
*It’s alright. I know he looks like a fox, but he’s my spirit animal, and he won’t hurt you. He’ll help protect you, won’t you, Tam’kar?*
You bet! Tam’kar tried to look his friendliest towards the two rabbits in the basket, his tone gentle despite the exuberant manner of his words. I can help you stay warm too! I’ve got three tails, so you can be all comfy and I’ll wrap ‘em around you and your little ones! I’ll have more tails someday, so you can have as many babies as you want, and I’ll be able to snuggle all of them! And if anything mean tries to get too close, I’ll chase ‘em away!
*So, do you think you’d like to come with me?* Taki asked, smiling and letting them know my her tone and expression that she would accept it if they didn’t find her suitable.

Leyora was finally in her new home, or rather outside it, trying her best to usher her stubborn pload into his new home. The pen was not too unlike that of a pig's pen when she thought about it. Maybe she should bring in some more sand so Tavor could recreate the sand bowl that he had been accustomed to sleeping in. Tavor so far had shown so much indifference with all the other bribes of treats, shovings and the outright picking him up and trying to drag him into the pen, that she was almost at wits end. It wasn't until a scrap of paper floated down into the corner of the pen, that the pload budged. Leyora had to hop over the creature, almost tackling him to wrestle the paper away before he could snap the paper up and eat it. She hurried out of the pen with her slobbered-on prize and quickly shut the gate behind her.
She flopped onto the ground, leaning against the fence and attempted to decipher what was written. It was no use, though. Despite being able to speak the same language as everyone else in this world, there just was no magic cure for her illiteracy. Frustrated she waded up the paper and bonked it off of Tavor's head, watching hi slurp the thing up before it ever reached the ground. With a sigh Leyora shoved herself to her feet and was about to go inside, when Eyrdith tugged on the bond that held them together spiritually. "No need to fret, the paper comes with mental tidings of invitation as well. Anarith has requested our presence at Arlene's residence. It seems some rabbits and hares are in quite a tough situation and any help would be greatly appreciated."
That made her pause in mid stride. She had been about to give in and take a nap to rid herself of the sour mood that was forming in her, but the notion of helping someone was appealing. She couldn't recall having been properly introduced to the lass, but if memory served there was the incident with the coleslaw and the echee... Well, no matter. Anyone who was willing to help rabbits, was alright by her way of thinking. Thanking Eyrdith for the information and guidance to Arlene's abode, Leyora sought out Cyrus and Skipper. She felt the rabbit was surely lonely and would enjoy helping out a kindred creature or two. As for Cyrus, it was his idea that she ride him through town rather than taking flight as was becoming customary for her. He decided that if he could carry the weight of a growing eld'rani on his back, then surely his human would be no burden. So it was that the trio set off on hoof, this time.
Leyora had made sure to bring some lettuce and carrots with her, having stopped at the inn just long enough for that. She was sure given the circumstances, that Duzell wouldn't mind too much. The wind was still blowing, and though the visibility wasn't really all that impaired in general, Leyora couldn't see a thing. She had dust (and consequentially her finger) in her eye. Cyrus fared well, though, and was careful to stop short of stepping on anything important. Skipper was content to fly in lazy circles around the bicorn until Leyora finally cleared her eye and dismounted. The black rabbit then settled on Cyrus's back and plotted quietly how best to snatch a leaf of lettuce for himself. "Hello there." Leyora called out."Am I too late to be of use, helping with rabbits?" Her tone was shy and apologetic as she knew nothing, yet, for what kind of a person, Arlene was.

Arlene honestly was puzzled by the innkeeper's upset. Did Leynora think she had a short fuse smoldering and ready to blow when it was obvious everyone was still here so she wasn't too late? She shrugged and pulled out another basket with a white pair was rabbits a hare hopping along behind her and peeking out at the other woman shily. The mage was used to the broken speech that more or less translated of hey we need the predators to not pick all of us off nor get too protected so they aren't around to eat fat lazy bunnies. Not to mention the part that the hares would by individual decide whether the life of a companion was for them or if they'd want to be aloof and reserved. So many of their kind had been lost they would need to rebuild and adapt at least some of their civilization to be side by side with these new two legs. Not like they were coming to the table complete beggars. They had skills that would be of use to the humans being more accurate than a dousing rod and they knew poison from edible since they personally had to eat them. They would help each human set up a safe spot for the nests to avoid the mothers stressing enough they killed the litter. Especially if the two legs planned scaling the cliffs the next month to steal eggs to try taming the falcons and teaching them to be emissaries.
A more energetic hare obviously hampered by his wrapped foot bounded towards Taki *I help. Lil cuz she here help even if you silly stupid.*

Taki smiled at the hare that approached with the offer of help.
*Sure! I’d love the help, any you’d be willing to give. I don’t want to make any mistakes if they can be avoided.* The comment reminded her of an amusing incident when she mistook apple cider vinegar for apple cider, much to the dismay of one of her at the time companions and the great amusement of the rest, but that was a story for another day. *I suppose I can be a little silly, * she had to giggle at herself, *but from what I’ve heard, all Myrgwae are silly at times. It’s just a part of who we are.* It was interesting to her to try and keep up with the hare’s manner of speech. She didn’t think he was trying to insult her by saying that she might be ‘silly stupid,’ more than he was implying that she might have been simply ignorant, which to be honest she was.
Do you have a name? asked Tam’kar curiously of all three of them. I do, and it’s Tam’kar! And she’s Taki, my Bonded. We have a real nice house. Don’t rabbits need a special house for themselves?
*If they want one, we can find a way to give it to them,* Taki reassured, remembering seeing a hutch or two in her travels. But these weren’t quite like the rabbits she knew from before, either. *But until then, at the very least, there’s some nice places in my house where you all can curl up and rest, and get better too.* This last was said with an eye towards the hare’s wrapped leg. *Maybe I can get some medicine to help as well, if it’s needed.* The kitsune lay down next to the hare.
Does that hurt badly to hop on? If you like, when we head back home I can carry you! That way you don’t have to put any extra strain on it. Taki smiled at Tam’kar’s thoughtfulness. They’d been together only a short time, but already she could hear his generous spirit coming out in so many ways. Though whether he actually could carry the hare or not was another matter; the kit wasn’t all that big himself. ]
*How long until your babies are born?* she asked of the doe politely, partially out of curiosity, and partially so she knew how long a time she had to prepare her home for them. It wouldn’t do to get caught off guard.
I can’t wait to see them! piped up the Spirit Animal, tri-tails flickering a happy, eager dance in the air. The Myrgwae smiled in agreement, then continued her gently-spoken line of questioning.
*Is there anything that you will need specifically? I want to make this all as easy and comfortable on everyone as I possibly can, though I admit I’ve never helped with babies before. Seen them, sure, humanoid and animal a like. But I’ve never helped with them. So just tell me when you’re ready to go, and what I’ll need to do.* (500 challenge, word count 511, Dance, Mistake, Vinegar)

Terris studied the hares with some interest as they spoke, more than a little sorry that the first had clearly been injured when the gods had willed the town into existence. He sighed. So many animals had been displaced, all because one of the gods, for reasons he couldn't understand, had decided to be malicious. He supposed there was good and bad in gods as well as people.
The hares had finished talking and a basket was thrust toward him containing two adorable winged rabbits, one quite obviously pregnant. He took them carefully, stroking the soft fur of the male's head.
"Inoath, I have a job for you! Come to Arlene's and take these rabbits back to my place please" he called through his mental link with the adolescent dragon.
She arrived promptly casting a curious eye at the contents of the basket, before gently taking the handle in her powerful jaws. She took to the sky without a word, and flew off in the direction of Terris' house.
Once she was gone, he turned his attention back to the hares.
"Is there anything I can do to help rebuild your homres?" he asked. "I have a large patch of land not far from my house that seems more or less free of other animals, all I see are the occasional bird when I go fishing by the river there. You are more than welcome to scout it out and see if it is suitable" he said.

Duzell listened attentively as the hares spoke of the need to rebuild their homes. He wondered if there was something more he could do to help them. For now, it seemed that taking a few of their charges would at least relieve a bit of their burden, at least for the time being. Duzell looked down at the basket on his lap and could not help but smile. Although there were only two of them in the basket he was certain that there would be more along soon. Duzell grabbed some of the veggies he had brought and placed them near the pair so they could eat if they felt hungry. He turned back to the hares. “if there’s anything I can do to help, please let me know.”

There was nothing to be puzzled about, as Leyora was just a naturally timid person around people she still viewed as strangers. Nor was she upset by any means, but rather just being polite. She had no desire to just barge in if all the rabbits had already been given away. It mattered little either way, though, just so long as the creatures could be helped. As it turned out, though, there seemed to be a pair waiting for her, too.
As she was accepting the basket, Skipper, the black rabbit she had adopted from the grove fluttered over to peek at the white pair. She couldn't help but smile watching each of the bunnies touch noses and greeting each other. It took her a moment to notice the hare that was watching her. Kneeling down, Leyora slipped the leather sack from her shoulder and opened it to reveal the lettuce and carrots she had brought. She gave each of her rabbits a leaf of lettuce and offered the hare some of the snacks as well. "Hello there. I'm not sure what I can do to help, but I'll do what I can. For now though, how about a snack? I'm sure you could use one after all you've been through." She smiled invitingly to the hare.
Glancing back at Skipper, she wondered why it was that she hadn't named him Midnight or Smokey or pretty much anything related to his color. Cyrus was all too happy to send a gentle reminder through the bond, though; an image of the black rabbit skipping and flying, trying to keep up with Eyrdith. That seemed like such a long time ago, now. The little bunny had integrated himself so fully into the family that it was almost as if he had always been there. She hoped that the white rabbits and maybe a hare might also becoming so fully like family, too.

Amerlan accepted her basket was careful hands. She didn't want to disturb the mother and cause stress induced labor. That would be bad for both the mother and the babies. Walking away from the others she found a quieter area and set the basket down gently. "Shh, it's alright now. Rest here for awhile. Soon we'll go back to my place where you can raise your family in peace." The light touch of talons on her shoulder alerted her to Artemis's presence, and not far behind her was Ekho.
To her utter surprise and quite ironically the cat ignored Amerlan and laid protectively around the basket. Amerlan had thought the cat would love nothing more to chase these little one's around and pretend to eat them, but she was oh so wrong. With the same devotion in her eyes as Seroth had for his Saydar she sent images of protection and love to Amerlan. For whatever reason Ekho had decided these rabbits would be hers, and hers alone. She might be inclined to share the babies with Amerlan, but these two she would keep as her own.
"Are you sure? Looking after another creature is a big responsibility." Amerlan questioned. A wave of reassurance rolled off of Ekho. "Alright then, but you're in charge of feeding them. One miss step and I'm going to help out." She didn't wait to hear the cat's grumbling as she went back to the others to hear the speech from the hares.
She understood where they were coming from, and was glad that she would be able to help out in some way. The hawks had her interested though. Back in her home world she had had a great bird of her own. Together they had hunted and traveled, and she missed her companion dearly. She knew that she could never replace the bond that they had had, even Seroth didn't fill that void completely, but it would be nice to have a familiarish companion.

Arlene stayed out of it. From here, it was up to the hares. Each separated with the two legged person that was nearest except the last 21 one of whom went to Arlene. The other 10 pairs headed towards the Temple carefully mapping out a new Burrow entrance and starting to dig. Each over the next few days would help guide those more builder mindsets to building into hutch aviary combos before tentatively offering a bond to their human.
