It seemed that despite how hyper they were, the young Nynts were actually quite apt listeners. She felt bad for assuming that they would not be, but rather than admitting her blunder, she simply enjoyed their company instead. As they had not yet answered her question of names, she wasn't sure what to call them by. Maybe they did not have names yet? A thought to keep in mind if it became an issue later. Leyora's eyes widened at being called "ma'am" and she blushed at the respectful term. It was not something a commoner like herself was used to hearing, so much as saying to others. The brothers seemed to be sweet as well as lively and playful, so she made slight brushing motions as if waving away concern. "'Tis alright, then. Boys will be boys after all." She was inwardly relieved to know that they weren't hurting each other with their rowdy play. They reminded her so much of the children that she used to sneak treats to, back at the castle in her old world
Feeling a familiar fuzzy head butt against the small of her back and an equally familiar voice requesting food, Leyora laughed and scratched Rasmus behind the ear. "Oh alright, you. Let's see what we have." She knew exactly what she had brought, which were kabobs made of faalbok meat, potatoes, carrots and onions and seasoned which various herbs that she had collected from the grove, but she felt it best she double checked that none of her pets had managed to swipe them. Opening the sack, she found that all was intact and well. She even had a stowaway with her. Kapelle was sound asleep, hiding in what she had thought was her was her bread box, made of poorly woven strips of some unidentifiable plant. With the head of a seahorse, the body of a cheetah and fae wings, Kapelle certainly made for an unusual, but lovely sight especially since his quiet snoring sounding much like the peeps of a baby bird... this time. One never know what kind of musical noise he would make, but he was almost always making music of some kind or another. Quickly and carefully she covered him and the food back up. She hoped that the brothers would not wake him just yet. He was so peaceful right now.
Leyora turned around just in time to see the eld'rani bombarded by questions. If the nynts were paranoid of being eaten, they didn't show it and she was proud of Rasmus for taking it in stride. "Nonono! Don't touch! Yes, they are pokey. Made of? I don't know. They are quills and I promise they are not fake." He had a bit more difficulty in keeping up but as long as there was food involved, Rasmus was willing to put up with anything. He and Leyora followed the nynts as they led the way to the food that they also had. Maybe they would have some bread, since she apparently left hers at home.
As they walked along, Leyora admired how the sun seemed to have an almost scarlet halo around it. It was possible that it was actually a much warmer day than it felt like it was, what with the pleasant breeze coming in off of the ocean. Taking note of the bondings happening around her, Leyora wondered if the Oasis would be enough of a lake to appease the need for water that the nynts were going to need and if it was going to be close enough to town to visit the new friends often. "You forget, dear, that Cyrus and I are content enough to take you where ever you wish to go at any time. You have yet to know all of this old dragon's secrets yet." The cheeky tone in the bond made Leyora both laugh and be curious over the cryptic statement.
In the distance, Leyora could see the silhouette of a well done spread. If the outline held true, the amount of food gathered was quite impressive. It was easily comparable to the meals served during national festivals in her own world. Leaning in to tap Dusk on the shoulder she asked shyly, "Is there a place for me to cook these kabobs at? When we came to the reef, earlier we were not expecting anything as grand as this to be going on." She gestured widely to all the activities going on around them. Without thinking about it, she opened the bag to show the brothers the raw meat and veggies she had so neatly skewered on thin carved sticks.
It was at this moment, that the bread box fell open and a very much awake Kapelle trumpeted happily. Taking to the air, he tilted his head this away and that, getting a feel for his surroundings. In a fit of playfulness, he fluttered between the brothers slightly poking them on the noses with a tiny paw. He glided up just barely out of their reach and began mimicking the music that was already present, except that the voice he chose this time closely resembled that of a kazoo. Big silver eyes glinted in mischief as the strange creature pranced around the small group. "I like this place. Much fun to be had here!" That her musical bond was moved enough to use mind speech at all impressed her. "I feel much the same way, little one."
It was true that she did. Life in this new world had fulled her heart as well as her stomach in ways she had never known before. Moments like this wild party also made a great spirit-lifter after many of the darker moments she had seen in her time here, as well. While sh missed her blood family dearly, she was coming to appreciate this new land and all its quirks as her new home. watching the nynts in her current company, she decided that anyone that bonded to them would be lucky, because there would always be a little bit of vitality and cheer in that person's life.

While Taki conversed with the Nynts, Tam’kar ran about on the sands, playing. He jumped up and playfully nipped at the seagulls flying overhead, chased with some of the nynts in the surf, and darted here and there, taking everything in. It was both of their first times to the beach, after all, and he wanted to see what it had to offer! More than one of the larger Bonded found themselves bumped into, jumped over, and attempted to be drawn into the kitsune’s play.
Tam’kar also has to grin when he heard his bonded’s riddle to the young Nynt. He knew the answer of course, through their bond, and thought it a very clever riddle-story. Taki loved those, as they really made you think. It had taken her two days before she surrendered to being told the answer on that one. Though the shorter jokes were something she liked too; given how much she liked to be made to laugh, that was a given!
Just as Tam’kar had finished stalking a crab to its burrow in the dunes, he happened to catch sight of some rocks to one side. Instantly seized by the thought that it would be fun to climb those, he bounded over and scurried up to the top of them, trailing any playmates that had been romping with him. From there he looked over the entire party like the king of the mountain… before some playful nynts jumped at him, bowling him over and sending them all bouncing harmlessly down the other side, only to run back up again and wrestle for control. Tam’kar stood and shook sand from his fur, then mock-growled at them and rushed his way back up, nipping at them and even gently taking one in his mouth by the tail for a joking shake, before all of them went paws over tail back down again, laughing at the fun of their new game.
It was after the third such tumble, as he was shaking himself off, that Tam’kar saw something at the base of their rock pile. It looked at first like a small cave or hollow under the rocks, perhaps carved out by the surf over the years. Ever curious, the three-tailed white fox scurried over and into it. It was something of a tight fit, and he could only fit in up to his hindquarters, but as he’d first peered in he’d definitely seen something glittering at him from the back! Even more eager he stretched his neck and forepaws out until he felt something smooth touch his whiskers. A few struggling pushes with his paws got it nearly close enough for his jaws to close on it, but the thing was wedged! Behind him, some of the young nynts had gathered, realizing their companion had found something else interesting.
There’s something in here, but I’m too big to get it out, Tam’kar called back to them. You’re smaller, can you help –Hey! Hahaha! Some had in their eagerness dived in before the kitsune had a chance to get out, their squirmy bodies wedging in beside his and tickling him. Let me out first hahaha! They backed out, letting him pull himself from the hole before diving in, soon emerging with a shiny water-smoothed stone. A small squabble broke out over who would own the treasure, but Tam’kar had an answer.
We’ll see who gets the riddle my Bonded posed! If the nynt she asked gets it, then you’ll get the stone. If not, I get it, alright? They thought this sounded fair, and all of them scampered over to sit nearby to Taki to wait and see.

Aqua watched as Terris undid and then expertly redid his hair. She was very appreciative that he went slow and even repeated the steps a few times, so she didn't even have to ask him to show her again! "Oh that is lovely! May I try it? I promise I won't pull your hair." Reaching her hands up eagerly to the knight she begged to be lifted up. "Up on your shoulders please? I can't reach from down here. Too small. But I have good hands! I make things! Lots of things! I can make your hair pretty like you do! Ooh I know how I can make things even better!"
The bond stuck to Terris and molded over him. The sweet laugh of Aqua could be heard twinkling at the back of his mind. Like a current it sucked Terris in and in, no intentions of a wave ever sweeping him back to shore, but why would he want on too? Little Aqua was waiting out in that ocean of a bond. All you have to do is reach out and grasp the bond and she would be yours.
Tempest threw her ears back at the long and confusing riddle. She preferred games of engineering, not of riddles, but she would humor the person. Thinking and thinking on it she just couldn't solve it. Finally she admitted, "I know not the answer." Frowning she continued, "I'm not much of a riddler, some of the others are, but not me I'm afraid." She was upset that she would be losing both the stone and she didn't know something, though it was only fair the fox got the stone, they had been in agreement over who got it. Scooting closer to the tide pool she pointed to a few creatures and named them. "I like to study things like these and learn about them. I know lots about fish and crustaceans! I may not be good at riddles, but I'm good at other things!"
Little River had been stuffing his face with fruits when he saw Mist bond with a human. Wide-eyed he ran up to her and bowled her over on accident. "Mist! Sorry, Misty!" He corrected himself. "You joined with a human! Is he smart?" Untangling himself from Misty he waddled over to Duzell and immediately sniffed him. "You smell weird! Where do you live? Not be the shore obviously! You smell of other things too! And Dragon! Do you have a Dragon? Can I meet it? I've never been up close to a Dragon before! Oh please, please take me to meet it!" River pulled on Duzell's pant leg trying to get up into the human's arms so that he could be carried.
Spice pulled herself away from the music to see what all the humanoids were doing. One with long hair first caught her eye, but just beyond that one was a skeleton man. Crying out with glee the Nynt waddled as fast as she could over to Cain. She came in at the tail end of the bond and watched with fascination. "Oh he gets a new name? That's wonderful! Gust will you be getting a new name? I wonder if I were to bond if I would get a new name?" She had entirely forgotten that in front of her was a man made out of bones. "Can you make pretty things? Things of stone or wood? the interior of our cave was bare cause things don't stick well to stone and Daddy wouldn't let us have many things of wood cause they go bad in the ocean. They turn such a nice white though! Do you know why the ocean turns things white?"
Dawn had been near by the elder and Arlene and scowled. Why was the lady ignoring the elder? That's not nice! Elder's can teach you many things, you should always be nice to elders so they can teach you! Scampering up to Arlene she poked the woman on the leg. "Why did you ignore the elder? Elder's teach things! And teaching is the best! So you can't ignore them. If you do they won't teach you!"
Foam cocked his head at Leyora's bag, he desperately wanted to see what was inside, but minded his manners. She obviously didn't want something getting out for now, perhaps later he would find out what was within. He turned to where the Eld'rani was being bombarded by Dusk and laughed and the cat tried to keep Foam away from him. "Brother leave him be! You don't want your paw cut do you?"
Shaking his head Foam pulled away from the cat. "Sorry, sorry. May I touch your fur instead?" He was about to reach out and pet the Eld'rani when he was distracted again. They were on the move towards food and his belly was grumbling. Charging ahead with his brother they lead the way. Leyora's question about a place to cook stopped them. Looking at eachother they seemed to whisper back and forth before both nodding. "Yes we have a place! Come this way! We have good coals!" They were just about to show her the way when the little Spirit Animal presented itself. It looked like and expensive jewel to them, definitely not something of the ordinary. So pretty, but fragile.
"Ooh what is that! Is it yours?" Dusk asked happily. Then a frown marred both of their faces. "This is wrong. You have so many others, but you do not have us! You must have us!" The brothers exclaimed together.
The bond that took hold of Leyora stretched her to her limits. Both brothers were trying to bond her at once and in very different ways! Dusk was like a wildfire, crashing straight to her soul and seeking it's warmth. While, Foam was like a steady river, washing over her slowly but persistent. Foam's bond was like a balm for what Dusk had left raw, and where Foam has lulled Dusk covered with a jolt of energy. Until finally the two bonds melded and settled over Leyora peacefully.
Cheering Foam clapped. "Now it is fixed!" Dusk finished the thought, "Now we are yours! You will name us won't you? Though we are happy with out current names if that is what you wish." It then dawned on the brothers that they had never properly introduced themselves. "I am or was, which ever you like, Foam!" Foam exclaimed. "And I'm Dusk!"

The wave of disappointment hit Taki like it came from the ocean, making her give a small shake as she got her empathy under control.
*I couldn't get it either, the first time I heard it. The answer is he counted by fives. The kind didn't say how they were to count. I'm sorry if I upset you by asking it.* Absently she rubbed her tail with her hands, ears tipped in worry, though they perked back up as she listened to the list of names. *Is -that- what they're called?* she asked of one of the fishes that she recognized by sight. *I saw them before, but I don't really know what a lot of things here are called. And this is my first time -ever- seeing an ocean, though I've heard about it before.* She giggled a little *I don't know about here, but back where I came from, I heard of a sea creature that laughed! The bard that told me about it swore it was true, though he couldn't prove it. Do you know if it is?* The thought of a creature that laughed as she enjoyed to do was enchanting. Plus maybe letting Tempest display her knowledge would help to soothe over any hurt feelings between them.
Tam'kar, meanwhile, had taken his prize of the stone and joined some nynts in making a sand sculpture, adding the stone as an adornment on the top for everyone to enjoy.

Arlene blinks trying to snap herself back fully out. "No, I didn't mean to ignore your elder I've just been pushing myself too hard trying to get some things settled in my home. Yes, it's edible on the fruits not the basket though." Arlene frowned and started unwrapping her hand putting another layer of salve on it. The exertion of lifting the guide nynt with a smashed hand had made the swelling much worse which the pain was probably causing some of the out-of-it-ness that her brain hadn't really registered the elder leading her and asking her questions. Not like she meant to blow off an elder of the race but she could have sworn she just got here from getting the nynt guide the last stretch in. She just hoped she hadn't broken a bone or this could be a bad situation. Not like there was materials for casts on hand.

Another Nynt zoomed over before he could get Gust to answer and started asking questions herself. Though these were of a different track than Gust's. "Hmm...How about Augustus? That way if he wants to keep Gust, he can, but at the same time he could have a new name." The Nynt he bonded too beamed happily at that thought. Yes! I like it! Grinning at his sister, he rubbing against Cain's shin bone even as he examined it. He was still curious about the bone man after all and since he was part of Cain's family, he didn't feel any shyness about staring.
Sitting slowly on the sand, Cain took a deep breath so he could prepare to answer Spice's questions. "If you would like a new name, I'm sure you bond would be glad to give you one. I can not make pretty things sadly enough. Closest would be I guess engraved bullets." The last question was tricky and Cain rightly did not know how to answer it. "Sadly. I do not know, but if I had to hazard a guess, I would say it is cause of the dissolved minerals in the water. When they touched the wood, maybe it causes some sort of reaction? That is a really good question. Might have to see if I can not find out the answer eventually."

Tempest nodded at Taki's question. "There are a few that laugh, sea birds and mammals too. Not all of them are nice, some are great big beasts, their call a harbinger of death. We steer clear when we hear them. That's why daddy wants us to join a colony, it's harder for out homes to be destroyed if we live in large groups." She slapped her tail happily on the ground. Her daddy had taught her well and now she get's to teach someone else.
She examined Taki carefully. This one was a bit unorthodox, but she could learn. Tempest waddled right up to Taki and looked her straight in the eye. "You need someone to teach you. Daddy taught me, so now I can teach you!" Just like that the bond slipped ever so delicately into place. While gentle it may have been, the feelings coursing through it were anything but. Excitement, curiosity, and joy all swirled about binding the two of them together.
Dawn examined Arlene carefully. The woman seemed sincere, but she still couldn't fathom what would make the woman behave that way, until she spotted her hand. "Let me see that! Let me see!" Gesturing avidly at the injured hand. "I can help! You need to bend down though!" The accidental mistreatment of the elder had completely left her mind, she would help this woman to the best of her abilities. She turned around and began to waddle over to a small area of the party when she stopped and turned around. "You stay here. I'll be right back." True to her word as soon as she had collected somethings she went back to the woman. Laying the objects carefully on the ground she beckoned for the woman again. "Down here. I'm small. You must come down here!"
Spice thought about getting a new name. Nodding to herself she replied, "I suppose I wouldn't mind either way." She was a bit sad Cain could make pretty things, but there was that word, bullets, that intrigued her. "What is that? Bullets? I've never heard of them before? Are they sparkly?" The thoughts of that weird word had banished the thought of white wood. She could always learn about the wood later, but what if this man was the only one who knew about bullets?
Amerlan had been having such a good time that she had decided to take a rest by a fire for awhile. The Nynts that had been with her had gone off somewhere else. She hadn't been alone for long however, a sudden bust of brown and grey tumbled past her. Two of the Nynts were busy in a play fight as they tumbled and laughed. Amerlan couldn't help but laugh with them. Her chiming laugh had caught the two boys attention and they stopped their little tussle. With wide eyes they approached her. "You are odd! Are you part bird? What kind of bird are you?" Abyss Grilled her.
"No, I'm no bird. I'm an Elfling. We grow feathers for show." Amerlan chuckled.
"An Elfling? What is that? Are you from here? Where are you from?" Storm pushed at her legs.
"Yes an Elfling. I come from a place called Cassin. A place that is very much not here." The two boys weren't sated by her answer and continued to grill her. The little Elfing could hardly keep up with them and more than once stumbled over her words.

Rasmus purred from all the attention. "Oh yes, my fur is perfectly safe to touch." " Amazingly soft compared to those quills!" Leyora agreed, happy to see everyone getting along nicely together. Even her adorably annoying Kapelle seemed to be making waves with her young friends. "To be honest, I'm not sure exactly what he is, besides being a quirky spirit. I think I might be as much his as he is mine, though." She chuckled softly, content to watch all the animals play... at least until she saw the frown come over the brothers' faces. They answered the question that was teetering on the tip of her tongue easily enough, though.
Getting swallowed up by their warring, yet complimenting bonds was akin to burning to a crisp in a solar flare while being caught up in an undertow from the ocean. At one point she could not even tell if she were breathing or not. Despite the wild ebbing and flowing of the two bonds simultaneously seeking refuge Leyora stood, albeit wobbly, with an elated grin on her face. "Yes. Now I have you, and you have me and many more!" She invited all of her bonds to send warm greetings to their new family members. She was enjoying watching the two nynts' eyes light up as though there were stars caught and sparkling in them. "Foam and Dusk? Those names seem to suit you both so well already. Would it be alright, if I asked you to keep them?" She beamed happily as they nodded eagerly. "Good, good. Now then about those coals?"
Leyora laughed as the brothers babbled and bobbled the rest of the way over to show her the coals. The set up was a very simple, but very nice stone fire pit with a grill over it. It was perfect for what she needed and it seemed that the coals were still going from where someone else had cooked the other food that was already there. Opening the bag, she pulled out the kabobs and set them on the grill to cook. She also had vegetarian kabobs with her, because had half expected she would be feeding all the meat to Rasmus, anyway. Despite her trying to be otherwise, she really was just a big softy for those big, pleading eyes.
While she was waiting for the kabobs to grill, she started using her finger to doodle in the sand. It was more sketches that any sort of real imagery, but it helped to pass the time. The image was of the ocean with a busy sky, likely a sunset. The main focus of the picture was a girl, herself, sitting under a tree with widely spread branches. Under the tree, in the tree, and peeking out from around the tree were all of the bondeds and pets that she had come to love so far.
Foam and Dusk seemed to be busy trying to figure out exactly how Kapelle 'worked'. When asked Leyora answered "I'm not sure, but then again, nothing states that a spirit bond actually has to make sense, does it?" She winked playfully and laughed as the brothers spied her artwork and bombarded her with more questions.

Taki laughed as she felt the gentle bond connect, as well as the tumult of emotions that bubbled through her. How like her own normal state it was! Yes, she thought that she and Tempest would get along just fine! The question flickered over her mind 'why would anyone call such a creature 'harbringers of death?' but it was neither time nor place.
*It's a deal! You can teach me what you know about the ocean and everything your daddy taught you, and if you'd like I'll teach you what little I know about the inland areas, or play my flute for you. Well, I'll probably do that anyhow.* The Myrgwae conceeded that with a chuckle. *I'm Taki, by the way. Is there something you'd like me to call you, or would you like me to make something up for you? Something like... Nya?* The name just kind of popped into her head, recalled from an old song her bard friend liked to sing, about a sea goddess.

Duzell smiled at River and his stream of questions. Misty stood up and dusted herself off. She jumped in and answered River before Duzell could open his mouth. Yes! He’s very smart. He has amazing riddles. He had one even I couldn’t answer! Duzell smirked at Misty’s tone. He knew he could look forward to a rematch eventually. He turned to River. “I smell weird huh? I guess I could use a bath. It’s a bit difficult to keep on a good schedule with all this running around, not to mention the lack of indoor plumbing. Cold water just is not nearly as inviting. No, I don’t live anywhere near the shore. I live far off in a big town that the gods built for us humans. It’s near the desert, but still surrounded by a forest. We do have a big lake not too far away though. It’s actually quite lovely. I run the Inn there with my friend Leyora. She’s here too actually, although I seemed to have lost her in the crowd of Nynts.” Not that Duzell particularly minded. He would enjoy swapping stories about Nynts with her later.
River wanted to meet Nysath did he? At least Nynts seemed to be the one species that Nysath could stand. Maybe he would not be his grumpy old self to the excitable young Nynt. “Yes, I have a dragon, and an Eld’rani, not to mention a few Echee and even an Osidae. Luckily for you my dragon, Nysath is actually here at the party. I’m sure he’d love to meet you if you want.” He bent down and scooped up River into his arms. He turned and offered Misty a ride as well but she declined. She preferred to run around wherever she pleased and see everything she wanted. She ran parallel to Duzell over to where Nysath was sitting on the beach talking with a few of the Nynts and enjoying the melodies coming from the nearby Nynt band.
Nysath turned to Duzell as he approached. Ah, so you succeeded in bonding a Nynt. I was not sure that you would. He looked down at Misty. Welcome to the family little one. He turned back to Duzell and River. And who is this little guy? Duzell placed River on the ground so he could get a closer look at Nysath. As River dashed over to examine the dragon closer Duzell couldn’t help but chuckle. “Looks like you made a new friend Nysath.”

Of course the curious little Nynt would ask about bullets The real question was how as he going to explain them. He had a choice here. Either he could censor the answer and leave out the killing part or just tell her point blank about what they are made out of and what they are used for.
Twisting his finger bones as he thought, he wondered which would be the best route to go. Finally deciding to just tell all that applied to the question at hand. What could go wrong there? And it would still be answering the question. "A bullet is a small piece of material, often some kind of metal, shaped in a sphere or a cylinder. They are made to be shot out at something usually aimed at people or other living things. They can injure or kill, but sometimes, they can be lucky items. I guess it all really depends."
Gust was curious as well, but his fellow Nynt had the sand at the moment. Maybe she had the same questions that he did? If so, he was not about to steal her current and ask them. If he was patient enough, all his questions might be answered. If they weren't...Well, then he could ask them himself. Simple as that.

Terris felt the bond shift into place and smiled softly at Vidra, the little grey Nynt snuggled close for a brief moment, a cementing of their bond, before the knight undid his hair once more, allowing the female to do what she would with it.
While Vidra practiced braiding his hair, Terris went to work, chipping away at baby coconuts with his short dagger. As small holes slowly formed in the nuts, the knight placed hollow reeds into them, then lined them all up in front of him.
"I have some drinks over here" he called out to the congregation, before running a hand through his hair, marvelling at the intricate styling his new companion had managed.
"You are good at that" he said fondly, stroking her soft head.

Arlene sat down on the sands taking care to not jar her hand. She held out the bandage wrapped mess gingerly to the nynt. It wasn't that she didn't trust the creature but... just because the healing working on your own species didn't always mean techniques crossed species lines well. On the other hand it couldn't hurt since her dragon had sent here to rest and not fatigue herself more. If that one found out she had hauled a nynt clear from their place in the forest by the river well.... fur would fly.

Post by Raegar on Aug 8, 2014 5:10:49 GMT -8
Well and truly healed by the lady from the snake party, Raegar had decided to scope out the new lands he had been so unceremoniously dumped in. It was nothing like the big city he had been used to slumming in, nor like the wide expanses of country and mountain ranges that Mt. Meridias had to offer. It did at times come close, though. So far as Raegar knew, though, he was still somewhere in Elderomis. His telepathic stallion, Cozzene, for private reasons had not yet had the heart to tell him that he was worlds away from anything that he truly knew. Perhaps there would eventually come a day when the time would be right to ease the concept onto his rider's fragile mind.
For now, Raegar found that riding Cozzene along the beach was proving to be calming, but a bit unproductive. He was in search of more towns. Surely there was some place that sold fine clothing... or any clothing at all for that matter. Though he preferred finer materials like silk, right now he'd even kill for some wool outfit, just to change out of the tatters that he wore now. What once had been stylish entertainer's garb was now permanently stained by the tar from the quagmire.
He was also looking for a temporary place to settle down. He would need time to collect himself and buy up new supplies if he was going to hunt down the bastard wizard that jerked him around. He had somehow convinced himself that the wizard that sold him the chain in the first place was the one that had tipped Wendel and crew off to where he was performing and that this wizard had done so to collect the chain and sell it to some other fool, once Raegar was dead and unable to be found. Cozzene blew out a derisive snort at the thought, but remained otherwise silent. Better that his bonded believed a mere mortal was the one to drop him here, rather than allow Raegar to attempt fighting the gods themselves.
Raegar had debated staying at the Inn, but from the information he had gleaned, they were a new establishment and had not yet opened officially. If he could not find a suitable place soon, maybe he would ask if the tavern could put him up. He had plenty of Mt. Meridias currency still folded up in his pockets, though he was not sure what the exchange rates would be in this area. If need be, he could work to pay for his room and board.
Such thoughts were derailed, however, by the sounds of laughter, music and beings of all kinds enjoying some sort of a party. Curious he asked Cozzene to get a bit closer. Though they stayed at the outskirts of the gathering, he was spotted by a strange looking little fellow that seemed to be part otter and part seal. He really did get down into the boonies this time, didn't he?! Curiouser still was that the creature bounded right up to him with no fear, but a huge bundle of energy. Questions were asked about when and how he got here and where he found such a lovely horse, and a many other questions that seemed to not need an answer. Finally the small elder happily told them to "Come! Come! Talk, eat, play! Many of humans and nynts to be mingled with!" Raegar stared, baffled by the creature, and shrugged. "Sure, count me in." His stomach growled a little as if agreeing that food would be most welcome. Dismounting, Rae and Coz wandered aimlessly about the grounds taking in all the festivities and slowly made their way towards the delicious scent of food.

River ran up to Nysath and squeaked with glee. A Dragon! A real live Dragon! Bounding right up to Nysath he touched his paws to the Dragon-hide. Soft and smooth it glided over his tiny paw-pads. "Oh wow!" He gasped. "How fast can you fly? Can you breathe fire? Can you swim?!" This great creature completely mystified River.
Turning around he waddled back over to Duzell. "Can I stay with you? I want to stay with the Dragon, so I will stay with you!" The bond slid into place like a hot knife through butter. Smooth and simple, it was hard to register it was even there. Once the bond was complete River waddled as fast as he could back to Nysath. "Tell me about flying!" He begged cheerfully. He intended to fly on Dragon back one day and wanted to know all about it!
Spice scrunched up her nose and backed away from Cain. She didn't like the sound of those bullet things at all! Like a lion fish, pretty she supposed, but deadly and not meant to be played with. Dipping her head she thanked him, "Thank you for telling me of these bullets, I will warn my colony about them." With that she bounded back into the festivities. She knew her soon to be colony was there and was eager to share this new, and dangerous, knowledge with them.
Dawn was quite pleased when Arlene allowed her to examine the injured hand. "Ooh you did a number here. How'd you hurt it?" All the excessive chatter from the Nynt's mind had been quelled, she had a job to do and she would do it right. Pull out a clam shell with and oily blue substance within she scooped a little into her paw. "This is going to sting your skin a bit, okay? It'll go numb soon though, promise." Gently she rubbed in the substance, watching Arlene's face for discomfort the entire time. With the most unpleasant part of the deed done she set to work laying out a few twigs for support and then wrapped the hand in soft, dry, pieces of seaweed. The number of layers meant the bandaging wouldn't fall apart right away.
Grinning up at Arlene, Dawn spoke, "You're going to need someone to look after you for awhile. So I'm going to stay with you!" The bond reached out like a gentle hug. Slipping into place gently, but firmly.
Abyss heard his name being called over by where the band was playing. His new colony awaited him! "Nice meeting you bird lady! Bye now!" Waddling off with only a charm a Nynt could possess Abyss joined the other Nynts.
Shoal on the other hand was determined to stay with the bird lady. "I must know everything about this other world! You will tell me more yes! Oh I know! I will stay with you and then you have to tell me more!"
Amerlan giggled at the eagerness of the young Nynt. Like a stone being dropped into a pond the bond rippled over them both. They would now be stuck with each other, and happily so! Seroth felt the inquisitive bond settle over his bonded and let out a booming laugh. "Never a dull moment with you my Amerlan." A Nynt would be a welcome addition to their family, someone who could keep his Saydar occupied so that he could take long naps.
The sun began to descend over the water and the band grew silent, taking their place was a very ancient looking Nynt. "Thank you all for coming to our summer celebration! And welcome to all the new younglings! I trust your new colonies, both human and Nynt alike will treasure you always. We have had another prosperous summer and may there be many more wonderful years to come!" Cheers rang out over the closing speech as the last of the young Nynts took their places in their new colonies and the party began to calm to a pleasant crawl. Perhaps the humans would see them again someday.
