Cain nearly jumped out of his skin as he felt the rough and very wet tongue of the nynt lick at his bones. That was not a pleasant feeling in the least and he tried to take a step out of range but it was about as effective as telling Dorth he was scared of heights. Which, for the record, was not all that effective. Everyone let out a shout of joy it seemed at this new lovely piece of information and before Cain could open his jawbone to answer any of the questions hurled at him, the elder was already gone to be replaced by the younger pup. "Nice to meet you Gust. I'm Cain. Hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna back track a bit and answer some of the questions I was asked before she called you over here. Figure you might want to know the answers too." Chuckling, he rubbed his skull, the knight's hair completely forgotten. For now. Don't think you had completely escaped yet though Terris. He would get ahold of you at some point. Might as well resign yourself to your fate now and be done with it.
"Bones normally move by muscles and ligaments. Nerves send signals to the brain which then trigger a response and a new message is sent back to cause the movement. Bones themselves actually can't move, but I move by a combination of magic you could say and sheer will power. I guess you could say I'm a ghost that is currently possessing a full skeleton of mismatched parts. Bones does not always move, but I can. Unless I'm sleeping and even then my ribcage moves as if I am breathing." As if to prove that it did in fact expand and contract, he took in a big breath of air and let it out, causing the bones to move. "Though I do not need to breath nor do I need to eat. I have no more organs and even if I were to stick something in my mouth, it would just fall back out through my ribcage."
The colony question seemed to have trigger a laugh from Cain and he once again demonstrated how his ribs moved. "Aye. I have a colony though I do not call it by such a name. I call my colony, my family. There is Dorth and Able and then all my lovely saydar chicks. I have a few fluff balls too. In fact, one likes to nest in my skull, but alas she is not here due to the fact she needs air and I walked here so couldn't exactly bring her. My hand seems to be her favorite trinket and I like to oblige her whenever I can." The skeleton man seemed to have forgotten that Terris was probably within earshot and heard that soft hearted comment from him. Oh well. Too late to take it back now.
"Sadly. No nynts as of yet, but any of you are welcome to come join if you find that I'm too liking. If not, just make sure you all pick a good home. I would hate to have to break someone's nose cause they've been mistreating you. Well...I would hate the fact that you had to go through the mistreatment. Not so much sorry for breaking the person's nose." Not that he thought any of his fellow riders would abuse the knowledge loving beasts. But still, judging a book by its cover was what got him here in the first place. Better to be safe than sorry.
"Got any more questions I can answer for you?"

Taki ran along the serf, laughing cheerfully as she and her kitsune kit, Tam'kar, chased after the sea creature that had found them. The pair had been relaxing by the ocean, with the kit dashing off to find treasures to bring back to his Bonded, when the darting, nearly frantic creature had popped up. Tam'kar had identified it as as Nynt, and it had somewhat startled Taki by rushing up to her, chattering and bounding about that it didn't take the Myrgwae's empathy to determine it was in some kind of distress. But not a bad distress, she decided, but an excited distress! It had to be somewhere in a hurry, and wanted her to follow. So, as impulsive and inquisitive as ever, she had scooped up and pocketed her sea treasures and followed.
Now the pair had crested a dune and seen the gathering. Taki recognized a few people, just by face as she'd never talked to them, and there were more of the Nynts, including some darling little ones! With a happy, broadcasted giggle that Tam'kar echoed, the pair jogged forward to join the party! As per her usual self, Taki wandered here and there, not intruding on conversations, but listening to what everyone was doing and watching to see what might happen next, until she became curious about what was happening at one of the tide pools that had come of the little Nynts facinated. So, with typical Myrgwae innocence, she went over and crouched down to see for herself.

Shoal bounced up and down excitedly. This human was smart! He had brains! This pleased Mist as well, who was as eager as her brother to dish out her own riddle, but first they had to answer the one given to them. First to speak was Shoal, he was certain he had the right answer and didn't even look to his sister for help. "A secret!" He blurted out.
This caused Mist to be sent into a fit of laughter. "Shoal no! A secret won't fall to pieces! It's silence!" She looked eagerly up at the man for confirmation. Her brothers reply had been smart, but he hadn't really thought. "I'm right aren't I?!"
This Duzell had to be a smart person indeed. Catching the curiosity of the two young adults and keeping them there like an anchor on a chain. Mist certainly wouldn't be leaving any time soon, she just had to give him her own riddle. "You ready for mine? Of course you are! Okay here it goes!" She had to slow her chattering down, or the human may have not caught all her words. "A box without hinges, key or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid." Bouncing up and down eagerly she awaited the humans reply.

Duzell smiled broadly. Somehow he had found himself in a riddle war with two adorable Nynts. He laughed at Shoal's and Mist's enthusiasm. "Yes, that's absolutely right!" He turned to Shoal. "You were close though, I can definitely see where you got that answer from.”
Duzell did not have to think for too long about Mist’s riddle. Frankly he knew that one quite well, although he was not sure where he had heard it before. Maybe he had read it in a book or something, or one of the customers at his book shop had told it to him. In any case he was able to answer her quickly. “That’d be eggs, wouldn’t it? Lovely with a side of bacon. Didn’t realize you had those around here.” His mind drifted to a scene continents, no worlds away of a good breakfast of eggs and bacon and sitting in his parlor reading a good book.
Right, books. He needed another riddle for the two Nynts that were still here grinning at him. “Umm, right. Oh, I’ve got one for you. After you go through a fall I will take over. All life will stall, or at least grow slower. What am I?”

Mist was thrilled at the challenge Duzell had presented her with. What could it be? What falls? Falls? Or was it?! Oh yes, not falls, but fall. Clapping her front paws together merrily she cheered. "Yes! I know this! Fall, like the season yes? And so if it is fall, then the answer must be winter!" She was so happy she had found someone to play a game of riddles with, no of her other siblings could usually keep up.
"Here's another!" Mist cheered.
"Look at me I want to play. I'll move like you in every way. Be tricky, but the result is always a draw. Why? Because I'm an expert at response and call. What am I?"
Shoal on the other hand was a little miffed, being stymied in his game by his sister was bad enough, and now he had gotten something wrong. Getting something wrong wasn't the usual for him. Giving a slight nudge to his sister in a small good bye he wandered off to see what the others were doing. He had yet to meet the other young adults and was curious about how they had been raised. Bounding off he went in search of them.

Duzell was a bit disappointed to see the Shoal go, but he supposed that he couldn’t keep the little ones all to himself. After all there were probably loads of other things that he wanted to see; this was all new to him too. Besides, he was quite enjoying his battle of riddles. He had only begun to dip into the proverbial honeypot of riddles he knew. He pondered Mist’s riddle for a moment. “Moves like me in every way huh? Could be a shadow, no shadows distort. Ah! I know, it’s my reflection isn’t it? Here’s one of my favorites, it’s a bit long but it’s quite good.”
Often talked of, never seen, Ever coming, never been, Daily looked for, never here, Still approaching, coming near. Thousands for its visit wait But alas for their fate, Tho' they expect me to appear, They will never find me here.

Mist wasn't sure what to make of her brother leaving, he seemed to be headed over to where the fruit was, he loved watermelon after all. She may have gone after him, but the human interested her so much more. They could shoot riddles back and forth and not only was it competitive it was fun!
"Oh! You are very good at this! Yes! Yes! Its your reflection!" Bounding around Duzell in a circle she chattered on and on about how much fun she was having. Only the introduction of the next riddle settled her down. "Hmm tricky this one is. May I have a hint? No! Wait! No hints!" Clapping her front paws together in enjoyment she answered, "It' tomorrow!"
"I have one more for you! You must answer it right!" Sliding very close to Duzell she spoke, "What gets broken without being held?"

“Yes, it is tomorrow. You are very good at this too. This could go on for a bit, we seem to be pretty evenly matched.” Duzell pursed his lips however at Mist’s latest riddle. Clearly she had decided it was time to take their competition up a notch. He repeated it aloud to himself a few times to make sure he hadn’t missed anything. Loosing now would be an atrocity, especially since everything was going so well. “Hmm, what can be broken but not held? It’s something intangible then. Not a physical thing. Maybe a feeling? No, that doesn’t make any sense. What can you break? Hearts? Well I guess you could hold that if you wanted, however gross that would be. Hmm. You can break your word? Yes! Oathbreaking. A promise. The answer is a promise!”
With that solved now he had to think of the optimum riddle to give to Mist. She had upped her game, now he would do the same. “What does man love more than life, Fear more than death or mortal strife, What the poor have, the rich require, and what contented men desire, What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves and all men carry to their graves?”

It felt like Leyora was trying to take in everything all at once! Wide eyed and smiling, she laughed at the antics between Cain and Terris. She waved at them, but with everything going on, she doubted that they could even see her from there. She wasn't exactly sure when Duzell approached her but she answered, "I might play, if I can ever figure out the rules. These little guys sure are animated!" There were very few things that Leyora had confidence in, regarding herself, but her drawing skills and cooking skills ranked amongst them. Any other thoughts vanished into the ether as two lively nynts plowed into her legs. Chuckling, she offered to help them up, though they didn't seem to need it.
Whether it was something in the air, or what, she didn't know, but she was feeling playful and the nynt's rambling ways had her wanting to see if she could keep up. She drew in a deep breath and nodded emphatically. "Oh yes! I'm very much human. Maybe the most human, human here. Isn't that strange? Something else strange is that though we come from many different lands or worlds, we all speak the same language. Even you and I. Isn't that strange? Oh, right! Beaches. Love them. can't swim worth a lick, but I enjoy splashing around anyway. Finding shells is pretty neat too and.... uh.. and I'm out of air! How do you DO that?" She gasped to catch her breath, giggling at the absurdity of it all.
"You ought not nip at your friend? Brother? like that either. Giving him a hard time is fine, but don't hurt each other." She eyed the one that had done the nipping, but found it too hard to to hold a disapproving, motherly look for long. "My name is Leyora. May I ask for your names?" She listened and fully expected a whole new barrage of conversation to swallow her up.
Meanwhile, Rasmus was getting bored being alone and was maybe just a touch jealous that he could sense his human being so relaxed and happy and it not being because of something he had done this time. he decided the pad his way over and investigate. Besides, Leyora took all the food with her and he was getting hungry. Maybe if he gave her his sweetest kittenish look, she'd find someone to help her cook the food and give him the first bits of meat to come of the fire. That thought made him purr. As he rounded the corner and saw all the festivities, he decided maybe it was perfectly understandable how his human could become so happy and relaxed, so easily. Giving his tail a cheerful flip, he weaved between one person and the next, human or nynt, until he found Leyora.
Bumping his forehead into the middle of her back, Rasmus asked sweetly, "Can we eat now? All this activity is making my tummy all rumbly." He batted big feline eyes at her and when he didn't think she saw, he winked at the two nynts that she had been talking to.

Mist cheered in delight, this human was smart! "Yes! That's it a promise! One last riddle from you, yes?" She was ecstatic when Duzell gave her another. Oh this human was good. Not only did he solve her riddle but he gave her an immensely challenging one as well! What could it be though? For once she was quiet. A few times she made to open her mouth, but closed it for she was stumped. This man was good, oh yes he had to have been to stump this little dreamer. Finally she conceded, "I don't know. What is it? Will you tell me? But oh! I have something for you for besting me!"
Her giggle was contagious as the bond hit you like a tidal wave. It drug you out and out, further into her mind and soul where she was waiting for you. All sorts of wonders and inventions lay there, all ripe for the two of you. The just as forcefully you were shoved back out. Your heart beat raced with exhilaration from the bond.
"See! A good gift for you! You and me!" Mist cheered. "A name! What will my name be? You humans have odd names. Do I get one too? Or would you rather the name my daddy gave me?"
Not far away from where Mist had bonded Gust sat on his haunches and stared intently at Cain. Skeleton man was giving him a lesson! He loved lessons! Soaking up all the information like a sponge he gleefully memorized the anatomy lesson. He reached up to try and feel the man's rib cage move, but he was far too short. Even at over a foot long he couldn't possible reach more than a foot into the air, his body just wasn't meant for it. Instead he settled on comparing the chest movements with his own. His were tiny and faster than the man's, but they made the same motions. "Oh! So we're kind of the same. See!" He breathed in and out. "Your's move and mine do too!" He was quite pleased with himself on making the connection.
The man's answer to having a colony puzzled him as well. No Nynts? How could there be no Nynts. Speaking up bravely he pronounced. "You have Nynts! Your colony is odd, but you have a Nynt! You have me!" Latching himself onto Cain the Nynt chattered happily.
The bond flowed into place quickly and smoothly, like honey against a raw throat. It balmed something you hadn't known you had been missing. Gust's thirst for knowledge coursed through you clam, yet unyielding. Then it was all gone, nothing left but a bond as light as a dove. "See! You have a Nynt!" Wide-eyed the young adult looked at Cain. "Will you keep my name? Or do I get a new one?"
Tempest, who had broken away from the strange feathered humanoid to meet the litters, chattered away by a tide pool with an elder Nynt when a strange looking humanoid approached. Her eyes grew huge with excitement and instantly grabbed Taki into a conversation. "What are you? Sorry if that was rude. Where do you come from? Are there Nynts there? Papa says Nynts only live on the coast is that true?" Little Tempest grilled Taki. "Do you know the others? I don't know them. Would like to meet them eventually, but you! You are very interesting!"
Foam and Dusk grinned gleefully as the human kept up. Not many had been able to keep up with the rambunctious brothers. Their high energy had led them to be friendless except for their father and sister. All their movement and chatter scared away most sea-creatures, but this human liked them and she could keep up! Foam grinned sheepishly when he was scolded. "Sorry ma'am. It's just a bit of fun though, no harm, right Dusk?"
Dusked nodded happily and grinned at Leyora. His brother had taken care of the conversation marvelously, so he was content to just listen to what the human had to say. However, when the Eld'rani approached all bets were off. He had never seen one up close, on the account of they were generally trying to eat Nynts, so this was a special treat. Focusing on the mane of quills the Nynt reached up to touch one, but was too short to reach. "What are they made of? Are they pokey? Can I touch one? Oh! Food yes! There is food! Come I will show you! We have lots!" The Nynt bounded towards where the food was held and hoped the Eld'rani had followed.

Terris was about to answer Cain when all at once the skeleton was accosted by cheeful young Nynts, he sent a wry grin in his direction, and then, as a female approached him, turned his attention to her. He smiled gently when she spoke, then shrugged.
"Oh, it is probably better if I show you" he said, then unfastened the thin leather strap that was holding everything in place. His hair spilled down over his shoulders, to the middle of his back, and he combed it out with his fingers for a few moments, before he started, very slowly redoing it, so she could observe.
"I can't remember where I learned to do this, it was a very long time ago" he admitted, and then.
"I have never met a Nynt before, but then, I suppose Nynts have never met humans before. Are all your celebrations so lively? It seems like a fun culture."

Taki smiled brightly at the Nynt chattering at her.
*I'm a Myrgwae! And I actually get that question a lot. I'm from another world, I suppose. At least I think it's another world since the stars here are different at night. But no, there's no nynts there that I know of, but then again I'm only 5 Autumns old, so I don't know everything. I've seen the others around, but I haven't really talked with any of them much. I'd like to meet them and make friends eventually too. Thank you for saying I'm interesting! You seem interesting yourself. Haha, everything in this world is interesting to me!* It took her a couple of breaths to keep up with the questions. Then, as her twitching ears happened to catch the sound of some riddled flying around, she grinned. *It seems your kind like riddles! Want to hear one? It's kind of a story, and you have to figure out the puzzle at the end.* Taking a moment to remember the story, she related it to her friendly audience.
*There was once a good, wise, kind king. He had no heirs, and so decided to hold a contest to choose one. He told everyone in the kingdom 'Whoever takes my spear, hurls it into the air, performs a dance and counts to ten at the same time before catching it again will be my heir.' The first man to step up was a very strong tribesman from the far north. He was confident he would win. He picked up the spear and threw it, did a clumsy dance, but only got to seven before it hit the ground again. The next was a knight, who was known to be skillful in battle, but arrogant and cold. He threw the spear a little better, and his dance was more graceful, but he only got to eight.
*Then the knight's squire, a boy of only fourteen, asked to try. Everyone laughed, wondering how after such powerful men failed, a mere boy thought he could succeed. But the king reitterated that everyone could try. S the boy picked up the spear, flug it skyward, did a lively dance, and -easily- counted to ten before catching it again. He was crowned prince within the hour.
*Now my riddle is, how when all these stronger men had tried, did the boy succeed?*

Duzell smiled at Mist as he felt the bond surround him. It looked like he would not be swimming home after all. He could feel Nysath’s approval over there bond but Duzell was far more focused on Mist. He could not have been happier to have bonded to her. “Humans do have silly names sometimes I guess. Mist is pretty close to a human name though. How about I call you Misty, that way you can have the best of both.” Misty thought about her name for a second. Yes, I like it. Now tell me the answer. I need to know! She bounced around, as if not knowing was somehow physically hurting her. Duzell laughed. “The answer is nothing. The rich man needs nothing, the contented man wants nothing and beyond death we can take nothing from this life.” Misty clapped. Of course! I see, I see. I’ll have to remember that one. Ooh, I doubt any of the others will get it. Come on! Let’s go see if the elders are as good at riddles as you. Duzell smiled and followed after her. He had no doubt that he was going to have to come up with some harder riddles soon if he wanted to keep up with her. Smart as she is she was probably born doing advanced calculus. Gods help him if she ever got bored.

Cain was about as light as a feather or so it often felt like and when Gust came to latch himself to Cain, the skeleton thought he was gonna float away. Instead, he merely stumbled and laughing, moved to run a hand along Gust to make sure the nynt was not hurt in the reckless tumble. "So I see. So I see. Well, I am glad to have you Gust. As to your name..." Cain paused for a second as he thought about this. There were many things he could name Gust. Brimstone, Apple, Katy, Caro, Shore...But the question that the skeleton kept coming around too was rather the nynt would like any of them. Choosing a name was never an easy task and it was one Cain wished he hadn't been saddled with so suddenly.
The bond helped though and Cain tilted his head at the strange, but happy creature. "Hmm. I do not know. Do you yourself have any preference on what your name will be? I don't want to place a name on you that you hate or feel like you have to come into." The skeleton would wait for an answer before possibly listing off a bunch of names to see which one Gust might take a liking too or reject for the name he had now.

Arlene felt quite frankly guilty. It had taken obviously longer than she thought to flag one of the soaring dragons for a lift for the rest of the way it was obvious the party was in full swing. This was obviously putting her even further out of her element seeing as there was noone else loose to talk to and her hand was hurting. What did she know of small talk and chitchat honestly? She set the basket down discreetly and glanced as if she was ready to make a run for it now that her guide was back with his pod. Big gatherings weren't for her after all.
