((A random abnormal bondable please!))
Amerlan mounted Seroth and surveyed the land around them. They were on a large grassy steppe that stretched quite a ways. To the north she could just make out the outline of some very large hills, or perhaps they were just very short mountains, which were their final destination. Cinth had been learning to fly in the Nexus, where he was able to steadily leap from the sides of the bowl and glide, or like recently take off from the ground and circle it. The sands had provided good cushion for when he had fallen the first few times, but now he needed a larger area, a place to really stretch his wings. So, here they were.
Amerlan dared not fly with Cinth yet, it wasn't that she was gutless, she did however, value her body parts staying intact and she wasn't sure the small Dragon would be able to make the flight. Cinth would be fine if he dropped from the air. A little banged up, but it was nothing he couldn't handle.
"You ready Cinth?" Amerlan flashed her bonded a bright smile and urged Seroth into the air.
"Hell yeah I am. Let's see you two try to catch up!" Rising slowly, but steadily Cinth took to the air. Taking off from a flat surface was much harder than launching himself off of the bowl, but he managed just fine.
Wheeling above Seroth waited for the youngling to get his bearings before shooting off at a reasonable pace northwards. This was a flight of leisure for Seroth, but Cinth was hot on his tail. The younger Dragon even managed to pass him, but it didn't stay like that for long. Cinth didn't have the stamina to maintain such a fast pace and soon had to slow down to just trailing Seroth.
Chucking the old Dragon mocked him good-naturedly, "What was that? You want to eat my dust? Alright then!" Getting into it Seroth pumped his wings and shot ahead.
Amerlan laid low on Seroth's back to minimize the drag. She couldn't help but let the freedom bubbling up inside her out with a laugh. She once loathed riding Dragon back, but now she lived for it. Day like this when Seroth would push the boundaries of his speed were exhilarating. Suddenly a feeling of weightlessness overcame her as Seroth pulled a loop in the air. Once upon a time she would have feared falling, but many days had been spent perfecting their aerial maneuvers and now she was able to stick to him like glue. She had even been working on walking around on the Dragon while he was flying calmly, but she dared not do that now.
All too soon the two of them reached the rocky hillside and landed. Both of them laughed freely at the little speck known as Cinth in the distance. Settling down the two of them waited for the younger Dragon to arrive.
It was quite a few minutes later when Cinth landed. Out of breath and clearly worn out from the flight he turned his back on them and collapsed.
"Awh, you're not going to ignore us now are you? Come on Cinth, you'll get better with time. You're not even full grown yet!" Amerlan attempted to sway the Dragon back into their good graces.
With a huffy tone Cinth shot back, "Uh huh, sure yeah. Whatever." He was obviously very displeased, though whether it was at himself or the two of them Amerlan wasn't sure.
Running over to him Amerlan launched herself onto his back and clung on. "No not whatever! You have to love me!" Drawing out the word love she fake wailed.
Glaring back at his bonded, still very much un-amused Cinth rolled his eyes. Shrugging her off Amerlan landed on the ground with an oof. "Well okay then mister grumpy pants. I'm going to explore the hills. When you're feeling up to it come join me." She was about to invite Seroth when she noticed the Dragon had fallen asleep while sunning himself.
Climbing over the rocks she didn't find anything particularly interesting. A few shiny rocks here and there that she pocketed and even a bush with berries that Seroth had warned her previously were poisonous. Continuing on her way she saw a cave not too far ahead. If she had been alone she might have avoided it due to the potential presence of a large predator, but her Dragons were near by and could get to her at a moments notice.
Creeping up to the cave she just peeked her head around the corner when a growl sounded from the back of the cave. However, Amerlan was feeling very brazen today and instead of hightailing back the way she came she called out to the creature in the cave. "You really don't want to eat me! Dragons near by. Why don't you just come out and say hello?" Had she any brains at the moment she may have realized upsetting an unknown beast would have been a bad idea, or perhaps it had been a very good one?
