Amerlan sat staring at her egg that was half buried in the hot sands. It had been almost a month and still the egg had not yet hatched. The good thing was that had been rocking with ever increasing frequency as of late, so she could be certain it was not dead. Seroth too had been surprised at how young the egg had been. He presumed it must have been from a nomadic mother. While those types of Dragons were rare, they did exist, and it would be much easier for a God to steal from one of them rather than an egg from a colony.
To prospect of the egg hatching soon seemed to get higher and higher with each day, and it looked like today would be the day it finally hatched. Ever since Amerlan had woken the egg had been shaking furiously. She had yet to leave it's side to even eat or use the restroom. What if it hatched and realized she wasn't there? She couldn't risk the dragonling going Between, so she would stay and wait until it broke through the shell. She had wanted to help try and break it out, but Seroth had growled at her and warned that she would do no such thing. He even threatened to take the egg away and give it to another one of the humanoids! So, here she sat waiting on the edge of her seat so to speak.
Then it started. A tiny crack appeared on the surface of the egg. That crack then spread and multiplied until the entire egg looked ready to simply fall apart. "Seroth! Cinth! The egg is hatching!" All at once the two Dragon whooshed over and looked at the egg, evaluating its progress carefully. Both Dragons rumbled in delight at the state the egg was in.
Just like that the shell burst apart and out tumbled a stark white dragonling. Egg goo clung to every bit of the little one. Looking around with wide eyes it darted its head around. It seemed to be looking for something, or rather, someone. Eyes landing on Amerlan it squeaked delightedly and charged forward.
Amerlan braced herself for impact and welcomed the still wet dragonling with open arms. Falling back with a laugh as it hit her she glowed with pride. The bond then began to flicker into place. It was gentle and light, nothing like the enormous pull she had been feeling from the egg for the past few weeks. Like a gentle breeze it settle over the two of them, finally clicking into place like a cool shower on a hot summers day.
"Mine. You are mine. And I am Aelluth." The female voice said proudly.
"Yes, I am yours and you are mine." Amerlan replied warmly.
"But also ours. Welcome to the family little one." Seroth rumbled pleasantly while nuzzling Amerlan and the little female.
Aelluth wasn't quiet sure she wanted to share Amerlan with the two large males, but she supposed she had no choice. Huffing she conceded, "Yes, okay. I supposed I can share."
Pinning the dragonling Seroth just about growled at her. "We are sharing her with you little one. We came first, but we are all bonded to her just the same. Understood?" He wasn't being mean to the newborn, but he had to make sure she understood her place now. He wouldn't be bossed around by an entitled little female.
Squeaking Aelluth nodded, but didn't submit. She squirmed and squirmed until she finally wriggled out of Seroth's grasp. "You are not very nice." She huffed and went back to sitting atop Amerlan.
Chuckling at her Dragons antics Amerlan relished in the feeling of the new bond.
