(note this is how I'm explaining my character's 'absence' while I'm on vacation for a week)
Angelique was preparing to do a little scouting of this strange world she found herself in. So far she hadn't seen a single animal that was familiar to her, well there were the dragons, but they were only myths where she came from, they either had never existed or had gone extinct so long ago or left that world that nobody believed in them anymore. She also needed a little 'alone' time. Oh the others who had ended up here were nice enough, but she had been apart from civilization for so long that she was feeling the 'itch' to get out and into the wilds again.
She plans her trip carefully. She had gone back and salvaged her tent after the fiasco with the ploads, and had managed to repair it well enough that it would keep her warm and dry if she was careful, her bow, and her short sword. One pack had been destroyed by some creature that had torn it apart to get to the dried meat inside, but she'd seen lakes and forests and unless she was really unlucky she could live off the land. She also had a small journal that still had some blank pages. If she wrote small she could fit quite a bit of useful information in it, and she tucks it carefully into the remaining pack.
Mirath watched her preparations with some amusement Do not forget you will have me. I'm not very familiar with edible plants, but I know what animals are safe to eat...at least until we get farther out
Angelique smiles softly and leans against her dragon for several long minutes rubbing her hide with her eyes half closed.
"Let's go say our goodbyes and let the others know approximately which direction we'll be heading so that if we don't return in a week they'll know where to start looking for us"
