Dorth paced along the shifting sands of the Nexus. She was anxious and nervous and the tension could have been cut with a knife. Cain wasn't immune to what his dragon was feeling and as he sat there petting Able, jerked his skull towards the open sky. "Go. What is going to happen while you are gone? I get eaten? Able and I can take care of ourselves and the others. Not to mention I doubt anyone wants to mess with our guard frog." As if on cue, Garland let out a croak to scare off some birds. Dorth looked back at the sky before looking at her bonded once more. You know what I am going to do right? "Yes. I'm not a five year old Dorth. Go rise and find a mate. Otherwise you'll drive us both insane." Nodding, Dorth took off into the sky, circling the Nexus once to grab any male's attention before heading off to the icy coolness of the Glacier.
Circling the Glacier, she landed on the icy plain as gracefully as any thing the size of a large train can land on ice. Which was surprisingly graceful. Tucking her wings in, she would wait here for the males to show up. If none did...Well, she just hope Cain wouldn't be driven too crazy with her needs for the next few months.

Terris paced the Nexus like a caged animal, every muscle in his body vibrating with pent up energy. He had never felt like this before, and didnt know what to make of it. He glanced around, there was a sense of urgency about the place today, with most of the dragons, even those who were not bonded seeming restless, so he knew something was going on, he just did not know what.
When he saw Dorth rise, and leave the nexus, the significance was lost on him, he was all together too preoccupied with whatever he was feeling, but when his own dragon, Akanth rose, circling the nexus like a giant angel of death before swooping off after the female, realisation dawned on him. What he was feeling was the energy, the need of his own dragon in response to the female.
He looked over at Cain, curious as to whether the animated skeleton was feeling the same urges (could skeletons even have those urges? How would they...that was a question better left unanswered) but from where he was pacing, all he could see was the profile of the skeleon's silhouette, which told him very little.
He knew if he didnt go somewhere soon, and get away from everyone, he was going to make a complete fool of himself, so moved off to the deeper caverns of the nexus to look for an appropriate hideout, perhaps he could slink into some dark hole, and emerge when it was all over, his dignity in tact. He hoped so, but something told him probably not. It was worth a try anyhow.
Akanth, meanwhile, was in hot pursuit of the female. The moment he had seen her circle the Nexus he had launched himself into the air, and had followed her into the cold atmosphere of the glacier. He was not a fan of cold weather, preferring the warmer areas of the realm, but his blood was hot with lust, and a little frigid air was not going to stop him.
He watched her descend, admired the grace with which she carried herself, landed close himself, but not so close that he would crowd her. His move was not as graceful, and he skidded slightly on the smooth surface of the ice, but recovered quickly, his claws marking the ground below, wings held aloft. His faceted eyes swirled, an inferno of red and orange, and he extended his long, powerful neck in her direction, crooning softly at her.
This was not his first mating flight, males matured faster than females, but he knew it was probably hers, and he wondered, amongst the primal instincts, was she nervous? Scared? He remembered the first time he had chased a female, how akward he was, and grinned to himself. He was no yearling now, and while he was still young and relatively inexperienced, he was strong, and fast, and healthy. He may actually have a chance to catch the female this time! Now, wouldn't that be a grand thing!

Seroth's hide itched and twitched. There was something savage growing beneath his skin. It couldn't be that time already could it? A female already rising? He had to make himself remember that they were in fact older than the few weeks they had been bonded. That other life seemed ages ago.
He was brought out of his musings by Amerlan talking to him, he hadn't caught a lick of what she had been saying. Clawing at the sands he tried to vent his frustration. Something was supposed to happen, why wasn't it happening. That's when it all clicked into place.
Dorth was rising. His eyes whirled red-orange as he licked his lips. Too long had it been since a female had risen. Eagerly he shook out some of the pent up energy and looked back at Amerlan. "You'll have to find your own way home. There's a lovely lady who needs a giant helping of Seroth." With a toothy grin he launched himself into the air. Already he was behind, for Akanth had already risen and went after Dorth. Grinning he pushed himself and flew straight as an arrow towards the female. The chase had yet to begin, but he couldn't resist showing off.
As the temperature dropped to the freezing degrees of the Glacier he couldn't help but feel more excited. Dorth's natural feminine charm against the mystical frozen landscape had him swooning. Oh yes, he would give it his all to lay claim to her. His body coursed with excitement and his libido had hit sky high. "What a fine day to fly." He grinned boldly at Dorth "And may I say you are exquisite my lady." Nodding to Akanth he chuckled, "May the best Dragon appease the beautiful lady." Friendly competition was fine, but he wasn't going to be a push over. Even if he wasn't the one to win he'd make it damn hard for another Dragon to catch her. Turning his attention back to Dorth he rumbled so gently it sounded like a purr, a gesture of approval meant to make her feel more secure and confident if she happened to be lacking in any area.
Back on the ground Amerlan was beginning to feel very hot and bothered. So the horny beast was getting a chance to mate, why did he have to drag her into it! She mused that the duplicating feelings that came the bond didn't just mean happiness or anger, or other such emotions, apparently it included arousal as well. Groaning she laid back on the hot sands and let the heat work at her tense muscles. "Damn Dragon is gonna pay for this if he doesn't win." She had seen Terris run off and she was sure that was probably the right idea. The sands just felt too good to leave however. It would be better if they were some sort of hot spring, but she would work with what she had. It was nice to have time off from her new family, with two Dragons, six Saydar chicks, and a cub to look after she hadn't had much me time. Though said me time would have liked to be spent differently she wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

A female is rising.
"I don't see the appeal."
Heathen. The dragon's tone was simply teasing. He was good at masking the tension that roiled under his scaly hide, Xel had to give him that. Xel could feel it too. He wasn't a stranger to lust. His great-something grandmother was a succubus, after all, and no matter what other strains of demon ran in his blood, there was always that underlying edge of dangerous sexuality.
The only thing new about this was that it wasn't his own lust crawling under his skin, but Civeth's.
"Just drop me off here and go take care of it. Have a little fun."
Maybe you'll have some fun too. You never know.
"Just go, you jerk."
Civeth, pretending umbrage at being called a jerk, swooped low and simply inverted to dump Xel'zhan on the sand before he righted himself and fought the winds to catch up to Dorth and the other males over the glaciers.
Xel looked up at the others from his spot on the ground. "So, who are we hoping wins this competition?"

Nysath paced around the inside of the Nexus. Why did the female have to rise now, just when he was doing something interesting? He was trying to study…damn it he couldn’t concentrate. It did not matter how fascinating the effects of Pload plasma on vegetation had seemed only minutes ago now all he could think of was chasing off after that female. Of all the days. Shaking his head Nysath tried to force all thoughts of the chase out of his mind and get back to what he had been doing.
On the nearby sand Duzell could feel Nysath’s agitation. There was also something else there, much stronger. Duzell couldn’t understand why Nysath was fighting it so hard when it would be much simpler to go and do the natural thing. None of the other dragons had even hesitated, but no, he had to be stuck with the most stubborn, antisocial dragon in the entire Weyr. Duzell shed his coat and boots as he walked over to Nysath, the leather felt wrong on his skin and had to go. Were he alone he would have ditched the rest of the clothes but he still had a bit of self-control, so no. “You should go.” No I… “No disputes, no excuses. Just go. It’ll be alright. You want to anyhow.” Apparently that was all the convincing that Nysath needed. Eyes burning like orange-red cinders, Nysath shot up into the sky to join the chase. He sped towards the glacier as quickly as he could without tiring himself. If he was going to do this, he was going to win.
Nysath soon caught sight of the other dragons. Three males had already arrived, and while he was not feeling exactly threatened, it did complicate things a bit. Hopefully she would begin soon before any more males showed up. Last time Nysath had chased he had been much younger. His side still occasionally ached where the older male had clawed him, forcing him to drop out. It had taken forever to heal and Nysath had avoided chases as best he could since. He would admit it did make him a bit grumpy, but at least he had not gotten hurt since then. And yet, for some reason, here he was. Nysath decided to blame Duzell. But enough of that. Nysath landed as gracefully as he could and crooned softly at Dorth. He shifted his wings slightly, anxious and excited to begin.
Back at the Nexus Duzell smirked at Xel’zhan’s question. “Doesn’t particularly matter to me. For my sake I’d rather not Nysath come home having lost but then again I suppose the rest of you feel the same.” And not just about whether their dragons won or lost Duzell would wager. He’d seen Terris run off and figured he had better do the same, in the opposite direction of course. He didn’t know any of these people at all well enough to embarrass himself in front of them. Forgetting his discarded shoes and coat, Duzell wandered off to find a hiding spot to wait out this chase.

Eyrdith was off hunting saydars as far from her rider and Ayman as she could be, but even she felt that old familiar drive. That was at least half the reason she had flown so far away. This was not the first chase that she had witnessed, nor even been on herself and she knew all too well the danger of two females being in the same area during flight. She was not yet ready to fly, but her time was soon coming and she would not risk bloodshed for the sake of her fellow dragons or the precious few riders that they had found.
Leyora, however, was still at the Nexus, sitting in sand staring helplessly at Rasmus. The cub had gone rolling about in heaven only knows what and he had come back smelling like sewage. There were sun-dried bits of herdbeast dung freckling his fur, but he was having no part of being groomed. "I didn't roll in anything wet! I don't stink... that badly." "Urgh! It's awful! You just can't tell because you have been smelling it for so long." Any other reprimand was cut off by watching as one by one dragons rose and shot off like comets to some unknown destination. In there wake, Leyora felt a familiar sensation run through her. It wasn't so strong as to be maddening, but it was a touch embarrassing and uncomfortable as though it were not in her own skin. In fact it wasn't and when Leyora realized the feeling was coming from Eyrdith she wasn't sure what to think or feel. She was just simply confused.
She send Eyrdith a summons and looked down at Rasmus. "You need a proper bath whether you like it or not. Eyrdith is on her way and she will take you to a great swimming spot." "Aren't you coming with us?" "No, I have some... research to do." Rasmus didn't buy it for a second and he was too young, yet to fully grasp the concept of the situation, so he let it go this time. Eyrdith took her sweet time flying back to the Nexus, wanting to make sure that the coast would be clear before she got there. She was even so cautious as to avoid mind speaking to the other dragons lest she cause distraction.
While Leyora waited, she had Rasmus to stay with Tavor and Ayman and she went on walk-about. It seemed that first the knight took off and next another gentleman that she hardly knew went in another direction. She recognized the strange being that had also been late to rescuing the cubs and another lass who had bonded at nearly the same time she had that day, but she was feeling too uncertain as to actually approach them. Instead, she walked past them intent on finding Cain. She knew him enough now to be comfortable talking with her, though she still had no idea what to say or how to say it in this particular situation. She tried questioning Eyrdith, but all she got in response, "I'll explain when I get there. I'm concentrating right now. Just don't do anything foolish." The dragon's tone was gruff and agitated. Feeling even more confused, Leyora hesitated, standing almost perfectly between Amerlan, Xel, and Cain, thinking to herself this was a mighty big mess to be stuck in the middle of.

Dorth let out a low sound of worry, her eyes holding flashes of yellow as the fear of so many male dragons being here. She really hadn't expected them all to come and...Oh dear. The were all the ones with riders too. Poor dears were going to have an interesting time of it. Which made her wonder what her own bonded was going to do. Her eyes flashed a variety of colors before finally resting on the red-orange that seemed to always take hold during flights. Everything would turn out fine. It wasn't like their riders were plush fat saydar that couldn't run fast enough to escape an equally fat pload. No. They were all made of tougher stuff than that.
As each male landed, she crooned back a greeting at them. Her tail flicked a little in agitation as she waited only a few more minutes after Nysath landed. She was actually surprised to see him there, remembering that usually he stayed behind whenever the excitement of a flight raced through the Nexus. Or that he did anyway. Her mind was a little fuzzy and it was hard to keep it off anything other than the arousal and lust running through her. Sending a silent apology to Cain, she began the flight by shoot off the ice in a straight up take up, flapping her wings as she raced through the sky and climbed as high as she could. She wasn't about to make it easy on any of them if she could help it. She wanted her first flight to be a memorable one for her.
Cain, for one of the few times in his life, was glad he didn't have the adornment of flesh and blood to distract him at the moment. Dorth's arousal was enough to drive him crazy thank you very much without adding his own. But no. He hadn't had a sexual desire for well over 400 years and wasn't about to start now. Though it seemed like he wouldn't get much of a choice. Feeling hot, he stood up and decided to walk around to see if that would cool him off. He hadn't noticed Duzell or Terris run off in opposite directions. Though it wasn't hard to miss Xel and Amerlan laid out in the sands. He had missed Xel's question, but rest assured he would have a smart ass comment about it. Then again of the people he spotted, he only knew Leyora well.
Making his way to her, it was like every bone was on fire. It wasn't a pleasant sensation and he was really regretting falling in just the right place to bond to Dorth. Why couldn't he had bonded an older dragon? One that wouldn't rise? Then again, he wouldn't trade Dorth for the world so it was just the frustration talking at this point. Nodding at Leyora, he stopped walking and gave her his best version of a smile. Which was just him opening his mouth a little bit so there was a gap between his teeth. Able had only seen it once and remarked that it was scary. Cain had just hushed him and promptly shut his mouth. "Hello Leyora. Is everything okay?" He couldn't remember what gender her dragon was and rather she was feeling anything everyone else seemed to be feeling. He wondered if he should take a cool dip in the stream and drag everyone with him.

Akanth barely heard the words the other male spoke, his mind was a haze of orange-red lust, his eyes glowing like the embers in a forger's fire. All rational thought had flown out of his head, there would be no flirting from him, no kind words of adoration, all that was gone, replaced with one simple need....he had to pass his genes on to the rising female.
He craned his neck skyward as she launched herself into the air, releasing a keen of excitement, then rose himself, his powerful wings creating a downdraft that sent flurries of snow flying in all directions. He screeched and followed, a few wingbeats behind her and to her left, he would follow wherever she led.
Akanth could barely feel the touch of Terris' bond in his head with all the lust and hormones raging within him, it was a faint echo of what it usually was, but this was not the case for Terris...oh, no...not at all, the dragon had taken over entirely.
He had been looking for a place to hide out when it happened, the feelings flowing through him intensified tenfold, and he choked back an inhuman sound as he felt Akanth rise to follow the female, felt the urges of the great brown beast and was powerless to do anything but hold on for the ride.
The quest for a hiding place abandoned now, he came back to the middle of the Nexus, sat in the warm sands, not really a part of himself anymore at all, rather, an extension of his dragon. He could feel the frigid wind beneath his wings, the hot blood running through his veins, the rush of adrenaline as he watched Dorth rise.
It felt as though he was no longer in his own body, his own body had ceased to be, he was now Akanth, flying in pursuit of Dorth, and for the first time he understood just how special, how magical flight was. Being Akanth, he could feel all those emotions, the thrill of being airborne with no fear of falling to your death, the confidence you had in your own abilities, the strength in your wings, but all this was deep down, in a place where, if he was lucky, he would be able to examine later, when the frenzy of the flight, and the lust, and the need to simply join was over, and he was back to his old self again.
That secret, deep part of him marvelled at the intensity of dragons, for, while as a man, he had needs, and desires, they paled in comparison to this raw and primal instinct, this intense need.
He could feel himself, (no, Akanth, no himself...oh, he just didn't know anymore!) shudder as he rose higher into the frozen sky, the cold air enveloping him all at once, as though he had jumped into a glacial lake in the middle of winter, and he was vaguely aware that his own body had began to shiver, gooseflesh rising on his arms, the hair on the back of his neck rising also, though he had not moved from the warm sands of the nexus.
And the flight had only just begun.....

Nysath watched as Dorth shot into the sky over the glacier. Without a second’s hesitation Nysath launched himself into the air after her, determined not to be left behind. We decided to keep his distance from Akanth and instead flew behind Dorth on her right side. He wasn’t about to press his luck and end up wounded again. For a brief second he worried about how his rider was coping with these emotions. The idea was soon forgotten; his rider was a big boy. He did not require a babysitter. Lust and the thrill of the chase soon clouded his thoughts and soon Nysath was thinking of nothing else but catching Dorth. Although it was still early in the chase Nysath began a few aerial acrobatics. Why should he not show off a bit? It was the other males who should feel nervous, not him.
Back on the ground Duzell was feeling much less estatic about the whole thing. He wandered around the Nexus in a haze, too tense and hyperactive to sit still. If someone would please just hogtie him to the nearest rock and leave him there until this whole thing was over, yeah, that would be wonderful. There was no one around; although Duzell was uncertain whether that was a good or bad thing. Duzell closed his eyes, trying to force Nysath’s feelings out of his head. Not looking where he was going, Duzell tripped over something. Looking at it he realized it was one of his own boots. He had walked in a giant circle and somehow ended up right back where he had started. Duzell tried to get back to his feet but then decided that would require far too much effort. With a groan Duzell collapsed back into the warm sand and cursed the overgrown lizard for putting him through all this.

Xel actually laughed at Duzell's reply.
It was a rare thing, really, Xel laughing. But he wasn't entirely himself at the moment. Civeth would have laughed, see. It was Civeth's easy-going exterior shining through the tiefling right then, not Xel's own bitter prickles. It was Civeth's lust burning hot under the demon-spawn's skin.
He could have gone running, but why? It wasn't as if everyone whose dragon was taking part wasn't somehow affected. Xel just laid back in the sand and let Civeth's need wash through him unopposed. Those around would likely forgive him a raging hard-on simply because he wasn't alone. No use fussing about it. What would happen would happen.
And that was Civeth again, because Xel himself was never so relaxed and open.
As for Civeth himself, well. He made a good show of looking relaxed and unaffected by the tension roiling under his surface. Inside, though, his bones were singing. Need, oh yes, need, and a thrill of challenge that Dorth wasn't going to make this easy. The tightly leashed instinct to lash out at the other males and punish them for daring to chase his female.
And oh, such a leash on that one. It was an irrational and counter-productive instinct. Especially since Civeth, under normal circumstances, actually liked the other males.
He spiraled up after Dorth, putting on his own show of aerial mastery partly because he couldn't not because he was himself, party to impress her, partly to intimidate the other males. Partly because no matter what else was going on, Civeth would always love the sky. He twisted in the air, dancing after Dorth. She wasn't going to make this easy? Well then, neither was he.

Seroth twitched his wings excited as he saw Dorth's muscles tense. Any moment now she would take flight, he was sure of it. His own muscles ached with desire and that notorious itch to be coupled with the female was driving him over the edge. He knew he wouldn't be able to hold himself back much longer. Time seemed to slow as his claws raked the snow and Dorth took off.
He, however, wasn't quick enough to pull himself into flight. The other males already had some distance on him, and Dorth was even further out. Pumping his wings he shot like an arrow through the sky. The other males might have had a head start, but they had nothing on his speed. Of the males only Nysath had been able to best him in raw speed. Hard and fast he flew. The gap was closing, but what fun would it be to catch up to the other males now? Let them think they have the space to do silly tricks and show off. No, he would bide his time to just the right moment. If all went as he planned he would have Dorth in his paws within a few hours.
Back on the sands all Amerlan could do was lay there and soak up the heat. She knew Seroth wanted to be a father. He adored babies after all, but why did he have to drag her mind with him on his sex crazed flight. With that in mind her mind was dragged elsewhere. There was no room in her head to ruminate, only thoughts about past crazy endeavors flooded her mind. Oh and what wonderful nights those had been. She would have been happy to stay like that forever, but the others had seen fit to congregate and talk. Might as well join in.
Rolling over onto her stomach she propped her head up with her hands. The other's weren't too far off and could probably here her if she spoke loud enough. "Duzell! You okay over there?" She might have tried to crawl over to the man to check on him, but she didn't trust herself right now.
Groaning she used her hands to rub her face. She was so hot, but all she wanted to do was bury herself in warm sands, or cuddle up close to someone, but she wasn't about to let any of the others know that. Standing up she dusted herself off. Laying there wasn't about to fix her problem, perhaps the others had figure out a way to quell the raging desires. Cain and Leyora looked to be standing close together, so why not start there.
Trudging up to the two she waved and gave a tight smile. "I really hope one of you know's how one might go about dosing this fire do you?" If she had been in her right mind she may have been embarrassed, or not, being over 200 she had been around the block plenty of times.

A grinning skull was indeed a pretty creepy sight, but something about knowing that this particular skull was dear to her made the gesture less frightening. She had to stop and put more concentration on his question than she normally might. Considering she had only a vague idea of what was going on and Eyrdith was not exactly being forthcoming about it, the question almost felt like an unsolvable riddle to her. Oh sure she understood her urges and that they were coming from her dragon, but she had not yet pieced together that the others felt the same way only much stronger or what was causing it, yet.
"Well enough I suppose. I uh... don't suppose anyone else's dragons are acting.... out of sorts, today are they?" She blushed as she asked and then winced slightly as an agitated Eyrdith mind spoke to her. "Of course they are!" Shaking her head a little, she spied the lass that she had walked past, coming up to talk with her and Cain. Her first thought was that having a female with them might be nice as a way to break the tension, but she blushed brightly when Amerlan spoke to them. "I... err... No." The topic at hand was sensitive enough, but that Leyora found herself feeling the same way even towards the lass beside her, well, to say the least it had surprised her.
Without speaking out loud, she thought to Eyrdith, "Just what exactly is going on? What have you done to me?!" at the far edge of the Nexus Eyrdith finally landed and shook herself mightily from the head to tail. "Dorth has risen and the males have joined the chase! Come now, we must go... away, anywhere." "Risen? Chase? Like some kind of a race? What does that have to do wi..." The question was cut off by a vivid display of mental images showing the details of a female taking flight, the males chasing and the mating that soon followed. Before Leyora could squeeze another thought in, Eyrdith, who was quite exasperated with the whole thing, flooded her rider's mind with images of Cain, Amerlan and Leyora and the sequence that might likely occur if the naive rider didn't get quiet and leaved right now.
To onlookers, however, Leyora seemed to merely be standing there with a vacantly distracted look in her eyes and a terribly embarrassed expression on her face. She could have almost been a marble statue for as still as she was standing... that is until Eyrdith starting to show her graphic images. She screwed her eyes shut, clamped the palms of her hands against the side of her skull and shout out loud and mentally, both, "Oh for crying out loud! I get the idea! That's... Eyrdith, that's more than enough!" Her face was cherry red as she sank to her knees. Peeking up at the company who no doubt thought she had lost her mind, she said much more quietly, "I'm sorry. When I asked my dragon what was going on, I didn't expect her to act the part of a concierge."

Cain winced at Leyora's comment before looking at Amerlan. "Um...I don't think we are the best ones to ask that question too. I'm not feeling too much at the moment since I can't exactly do much." At this point, he stepped out of reach in case Amerlan had any creative ideas with what to do with his bones before continuing to speak. "Though I've heard a cold dip in water helps. Then again. It might just make it worse since clothing clings to everything when wet." Cain had just remembered that as he was speaking. "Really, now that I think about it. We got two options: Either take care of it ourselves or take care of it with someone else." He was employing a bit more tact for the sake of Leyora, but there was only so much he could think of to avoid saying the words have sex when his own brain was fuzzy with emotion.
Even Able was off somewhere away from everybody just in case. Rubbing his skull, Cain really wanted to rest a comforting hand on Leyora, but under the circumstances, it would probably be a very bad idea. Instead, he did what everyone else seemed to be doing and flopped down into the warm sand. "Would you like to go Leyora? It sounds like you've never shared a bed before and not in the sibling way. Don't know what will happen with me when Dorth finally chooses, and judging by the demon like person who got his tail bitten, not quite sure how long most of us will stay civil." He would like to have her stay and talk with him or the others, but he wasn't about to put her at risk cause of it.
Dorth meanwhile was actually ignoring most of the aerial stunts the males were or were not pulling as they followed her. She was focused on what was in front of her and not so much what was behind her. At least for now. Suddenly angling out of her steep climb, she changed it into a steep dive. The cold air rushed past her as the ground became closer before pulling out and flying just feet above the icy surface. There was a reason she choose this area and it was cause there wasn't too much things to run into when flying low.
Not keeping this low flying for very long, she found what she was looking for and dived into a crevice. Lets see how good your turns are boys. That may or may not have been followed up by evil laughter cause by this time, she herself was focused on reaching the end of the crevice still intact. After all, broken bones were no fun to deal with when trying to mate.

To say Terris was hot and bothered was an understatement. In his brief moments of lucidity he cursed the bond he and Akanth shared, that primal need rushing through him like a river was in no way helpful. Something would have to be done next time this happened. Some corporation would be formed to address issues of those bonded to dragons, and the situation of the mating flight lust would be addressed, procedures for ways to alleviate the tension would be put in place, but for now, he just had to suffer through it.
His dragon was unaware of his bonded's thoughts on the matter, his entire consciousness caught up in one single, all encompassing agenda.
Catch Dorth.
He had been briefly aware of other dragons showing off when the flight had begun, he had not bothered with such pretty tricks, his aim was to conserve energy, use the slip stream of the female, and try to outlast the others. He may not have been the fastest dragon in the land, nor the strongest, but he could use clever tactics to his advantage, and hopefully get one over on his rivals.
Focusing on the slipstream of the female's wings had it's challenges, however, and, as she turned and wove about in the air, he was hard pressed to keep up with the changes. He changed methods, catching the current when he could, using his own wing power to steady himself when he couldn't . He figured this would be an excercise in stamina, and he was in it for the long haul.

(ooc: used the word coropration from the british definition rather than the american...so like council rather than an amalgamation of businesses)

Duzell heard Amerlan call to him, but just could not bring himself to answer her. He rolled onto his side to try and get a look at her and saw that she had made her way off the ground and was headed to where Cain and Leyora were standing. He could vaguely hear that they were talking but had no idea what they could be saying. Part of him wanted to get up and join them but the very small still rational part of his brain was telling him that it was not the best idea. The excess of hormones in his head was making every decision a bit like a game of Russian roulette. He had never experienced this particular phenomenon before and was uncertain exactly how his brain would react to each situation given that it felt like a thief had snuck in and stolen all his good sense. Groaning he slowly pulled himself into a sitting position on the sand and looked around the Nexus. He was beginning to feel antsy just sitting there so he forced himself to stand and walk over to the others.
Normally Duzell would not just jump into someone’s conversation uninvited, but it was pretty obvious this was not a normal day. “I think a trip to the river sounds like a wonderful idea right now. I mean it’s better than standing around here doing nothing but being miserable I think.” Duzell shook his head. “I hope at least Nysath is having fun, because I know I’m not.” Duzell sighed and waited to see what the others thought.
Nysath was actually quite enjoying himself. He was a bit disappointed that Dorth seemed not to notice his earlier flamboyant aerial stunts, but the chase had just begun and he was not about to be discouraged now. He watched as Dorth entered her deep dive and then glided across the icy ground. He launched himself towards the ground, following as close to Dorth as he could. He was momentarily confused as she seemed to just disappear. Then, as he drew closer he saw the small crevice which she had flown into. He did not have time to be worried about whether or not he would be able to fly throw there. Any hesitation would have cost him precious moments and possible cost him the chase. He turned and dove into the crevice after her. His turn was not quite fast enough however and he over shot the crevice by a few yards. He thought he saw another one of the males dive in while he was trying to recover, but he could not be certain. Nysath lost most of his momentum as he forced himself back around and into the crevice after Dorth. Hopefully they would get out into a wide area and he could use some of his speed to make up for his earlier failing in agility. He refused to let himself be pushed out of the race by one little mistake.
